Man this is going to be a good game. I think you guys pretty much nailed everything. One thing (from a Viking fan's prospective) that has been nice to see is Sidney Rice and Harvin making some plays this year. We actually have WRs changing the game, something which we only started to see last year.

I think the biggest key for your team is that the O-line needs to give Rogers some time. If you get your passing game going, this could be a long day for the Vikings. I'd be surprised to see Favre throw 3 picks but it only takes one to change the momentum of the game.

Defensivly, obviously shutting Peterson down is key, but one thing Harvin brings to the table, especially in a WCO is the ability to get open very quickly for at the very minimum short yardage gains on the stacked box. You miss a tackle and that boy is taking it to the house. Harvin is a special player, a player I hope gives you nightmares over the next decade like Moss and Peterson. 🙂

I think this will be a back and forth game...although after last week I don't' know how much more of that crap my heart can take.

Good point about Harvin. I think that Harvin vs. Woodson/Harris might be a fun match up. Harvin however won't be as much of a nightmare for us as Favre will be for you.

People DO get old you know.

Balancing the defensive looks/personnel I think is key to winning this game. In Percy Harvin, the Vikings have a potential playmaker and a go to guy.

Some coaches change an assumed gameplan to catch the opposing team off guard, assuming they have the correct personnel to do so. I think our defensive focus shouldn't be in favour of stopping Peterson first - they should be mindful that Brett Favre still has the tools to carve us up in the passing game.

On the offensive side of things, we must have sustained excellence as the Vikings defense is stingy - the only percieved weakness being a secondary that only has Winfield as a playmaker. A short, efficient passing game complete with hard running and the occasional long ball (so,pretty much everything) could get us the W.

VikesFan- Can I or we get your perspective on what Minnesota has to do in order to beat Green Bay. For some reason reading this thread gives me bad vibes as if we are guaranteed to lose (not downing anyones opinion on this thread as I made my opinions).

So what are Minnesota's keys to winning this game Monday night?

(This is the good thing about having rival fans on the site :thumbleft: )

Well first off, I don't claim to have a great football mind - insert "thatls why your a Vikigns fan" joke here. lol. But I'll give it a quick shot...

1. The Vikings need to get pressure on Rogers consistently. The sooner the better. Keep the crowd noise in the Vikings favor. I really think this is going to be key. If we can't get pressure not only do we look bad considering the troubles your line has had this year, but more importantly it gives Rogers time to make big plays...which even we Vikings fans know he can do. Rogers is no slouch and if anything is underrated by the league due to his inexperience. You have 2 good WRs in Jennings and Driver - they will make some big plays, the key is goign to be getting Rogers face, and keep him from getting comfortable.

2.) Our O-line needs to step it up big time. Our overpaid LT (Big Mac) has been playing lazy this year. Did you see the last play of the 9er game? Sure Favre made a hell of a pass but he also took a face plant because McKinnie just quit blocking. Favre is old and geezer like (Christ, have you seen him this year? He looks 60!) He's not going to dance around in the pocket like TJack. They have to protect him long enough to get the ball out. If anybody is open Favre will find them...or throw a pick. We also have a rookie RT who has been making mistakes and a rookie C who has been manhandled this year. This is where I believe Harvin helps us - he's a quick dump off option with explosive potential...somebody OTHER than a TE or RB screen. For some reason Favre seems to love this kid. Harvin was quoted as saying he learned more from Brett Favre in three weeks than he has from any coach in his entire career. That is shocking. Especially given BF's rep for not teaching others.

I really believe that whichever team gets better O-line play is going to come out on top.

Typical NFCN game - Battle of the Trenches!

Anybody else ready for some football!? Totally pumped for this game!

In case I'm not back on before Monday - Good luck and here is to no injuries for EITHER team!

I stand exactly where VikesFan/BH does.

The battle is in the trenches. Whoever wins that battle, has the very best chance at walking out the Dome the victor.

I'd go into it more, which I still might, but I have to bounce for a bit.
