What I hope to see right from the start:

1) Clifton in the game. For two reasons. One, it brings the entire line back to where it needs to be. Two, pride and memory. Clifton wants to play this game BADLY. He had his worst game as a Packer the last time up in the Dome. You want a guy like that in a big game like this.

2) Get up early. The Vikes have been losing at half time in all three games so far and thats against two poor teams and one good one. We need to get up and get the crowd out of it and just maybe #4 will try jamming a couple in tight spaces like he is prone to do.

As the game goes on I hope to see:

1) Pressure up the middle. The Vikes have been prone to allowing a rush from the middle and Capers has multiple looks to bring it from there. Favre hates pressure from straight on so let's give it to him.

2) Seam passes down the middle to the TE's. The 49'rs were able to make some big plays with this and if they could do it there's no reason Rodgers and Lee/Finley can't do some damage. That would pinch the safeties and open up our WR's on the outside and no way their corners can cover them.

We all know we have to keep Peterson from the big runs and pass protect Rodgers. I'm trying to bring up a few thoughts that maybe aren't so obvious. I feel pretty good about it. The Vikes haven't faced a talented passing team yet and they are much weaker defending the pass.

Defense
1. Get to Favre early. Put him on the ground, force bad throws, the Viking Favre does not and cannot scramble.

2. Stop Adrian Peterson. Detroit's defense held Peterson to 92 yards (still a good amount). If Detroit can hold him under 100 yards rushing, I think we can.

3. Put a target on young Percy Harvin. This guy is being hyped as the rookie of the year already. Watch him on the reverse.

Offense
1. Come out fast. Our offense starts way too slow for the past 3 weeks now.

2. Don't abandon the run! Is Brandon Jackson healthy for this week?

3. Give Rodgers some time, run some quick routes.

4. Rodgers--either run or throw the ball away. Stop holding on so long...please.

I think if we hit the Vikings early there is no catching up. You are right, they have been playing from behind a lot and if a team digs the dagger a little deeper into the purple heart they will implode. Favre will start his gunslinging and bad things will happen.

I am hopeful on seeing 2-3 interceptions this game.

Stop AP and give Rodgers the time to throw and/or make plays by running.

To me, it is as simple as that. Don't let Favre be a factor. I believe if AP is neutralized, Favre will make decisions to throw down the field which falls into the hands of our secondary.

Personaly, I think this will be a heck of a game and it will be a difficult one to win.

Controlled pass rush from our Right side of the defense with a constant watch for a run or dump pass if AD or Taylor are in the backfied. Bring the pressure from our Left and into Brett's face. Let him see us coming, then sacking him isn't even an issue. More push up the middle. We have been giving escape lanes for QBs. Keep AD under control. Keep him from scoring and MN is very beatable.

Offensively, just need to get clicking early. We know what can happen when the O is firing. What has hurt us has been slow starts and penalties killing momentum.

Clifton does have to play up to par and hold Allen at bay.

I WANT to see slants to Jennings and Finley...

Try to do some draw plays and screens, I think those would make that Viking D hold back a little.

Besides the obligatory O-line protection I want to see MOVING THE CHAINS! Forget this "go for the deep ball" every series. Move the chains please, guys!

Contain Adrian Peterson. If Peterson has a day like Steven Jackson had against the Packers, that's a positive and a win for Green Bay.

Win the turnover battle. The Packers have turned the ball over only one time this year and they have quite a few forced turnovers on the defensive side of the ball. Hope to see that stat hold up Monday night.

Run outside. The Packers can't run up the middle on the Vikings. They'd be wise to run a lot of tosses to the outside and draws as well.

Short pass to setup the deep pass. Can't throw deep in the first quarter and expect to complete it every play. The short pass to move the chains is going to be the Packers' best friend in this game. It'll get the defensive backs to creep up and then GB can go up top when they roll Rodgers out of the pocket.

Offensive Line needs to be at least average.

AKamp - Singletary was thinking the same thing. Blitzed Favre like crazy. Favre picked apart the blitzes.

So the last play of the game, people got mad at Singletary for not blitzing. Well, look at the tape. When the Niners blitzed, Favre took them apart. So he called the blitzes off in the 4th Q.

Now, I'd also argue to pass a lot. Not abandon the run completely, but come out swinging, then give Grant more carries as the game wears on. I'd like to see Rodgers light up the Vikings D as we know he can do. Force Vikings to throw to keep up.

We really need to protect Rodgers this week, their defensive line is really good and I hope our line is up to the challenge.

beast (4h) : I was kind of hoping Douglas might come back to the Pack
beast (4h) : My question is how much do we trust Jenkins? In bad weather, he seemed to struggle a bit with ball control snapping, though he started at OG
beast (4h) : Well Jenkins probably knows he's not getting that 2026 salary number without a new contact... so just trying to get the new contact early
Zero2Cool (9h) : CB Rasul Douglas is visiting the #Seahawks today, per source.
dfosterf (12h) : He's a switch and baiter. Its the same as a bait and switcher except he agreed to the switch first lol
dfosterf (12h) : 6.8 mil raise next year. Those are existing contract numbers
dfosterf (12h) : 12.8 plus 4.8 pro rata signing bonus is 17.6 mil. Top center in the league at 18

dfosterf (12-May) : *Elgersma*

dfosterf (4-May) : Google it. Make sure to tack NFL on it or you will get the military meaning
Zero2Cool (4-May) : S2?
beast (4-May) : Seems like the S2 has a love/hate relationship with professional scouts.
beast (4-May) : In theory, the S2 test how quickly a QBs brain can solve game like issues and how quickly they can do it.
