It'll be interesting to see how one dhazer responds since he claims said quote from Rodgers is what began his unbiased, unhealthy obsession of hatred towards him.

All I can say is I hate the fact that Barnett has a twitter. He needs to be focused on football and not post things like this for the public to see.

With twitter being so popular, we may see quotes like Barnett's every week somewhere in the league by players on losing teams. Stupid, but he apologized for it. He needs to avoid twitter after losses.

Rodgers' quote was maybe even dumber, but it's about the only dumb thing he's said in the past couple years, so I cut him some slack on that one.

A year later.. I still don't care for the "Get on board or shut up" comment.. And I don't respect Barnett's drivel either.

One time to be very clear.. these glorified humans wouldn't have jack shit without us the fans.. and someplace in the scheme of things they forget that fact.

I have never booed a player of my team... but I reserve the right to speak to their performance as a paid employee of my team in a respectful manner.. in which I am a fan of.

I make a valid point of refraining from saying a player sucks and try to be respectful in my opinions upon their play.

Is it to much to ask our idols to do the very same to those that indirectly pay their salaries?

I think not.

Well Barnetts comment really pisses me off because he isnt getting the job done on the field. If he can't take flak for something he did then he needs to do something to shut their mouths.

I'm not liking what i am seeing from some of the players and that they are turning on the fans. I wouldn't mind seeing Barnett get traded or benched and get Bishop in there.

I enjoy reading Barnetts tweets most of the time because they are funny but this is just plain wrong and pissed me off.

I guess in short Barnett needs to start playing or shut his damn mouth
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Not totally in line with what you're looking for, but Barnett did explain himself after the comment and just 3 hours ago decided to stop tweeting untill the season is over. Apparently, he was catching a lot of heat for his celebration right after a missed tackle from people on twitter. Most likely uncalled for, but hey.

Second part of the quote :

....I was trying to get defense fired up... And so what if I missed the takle before am I suppose to stay in a funk about it!?? Get a life

His tweets from about 3 hours ago :

Hey everyone.. I done somethinking and I have decided to stay off Twitter unroll next offseason.. I am a emotional person and sometimes ----- With this Twitter thing I forget that everything is public.. Sometimes I feel I am talking to my freinds and just talk.. So I am going ----- To pull myself away from that.. Thanks to all the people who supported me thru my rehab and tough times and for the haters well god loves u

Good for Barnett. Other players will have to quit as well. Many football players are too emotional to be using twitter, especially after losses.

Rodgers did the same thing, explained himself, yet it fell on deaf ears who just took his comment as is ... instead of in context.

Both were wrong in my opinion, but Rodgers was calm, Barnett was emotional and often times under those circumstances, we say stupid things. I think what Rodgers said was worse than Barnett.

I don't personally care what they say on twitter or whatever. I would rather hear emotional honesty over "politically correct press conference speech" though.
