Raiders need the 1st pick lol. they are just terrible. But the pats will do what they always do. bring in someone new and make them brilliant...then trade them for more picks.....its a veteran and draft making machine!

Seymour not yet a Raider.

Apparently, it's not as much on Oakland's side if you want to believe Cable. Michael Lombardi isn't so sure though. And neither am I.

I can imagine that Seymour's not too happy about this trade, but I asume that he'll eventually show up at his new employed.

The Raiders haven't been taken seriously for MANY years.
They always make these trades that has everyone else scratching their collective heads.
Grasping at straws, it seems to me.

Damn how the hell does the Pats always pull this shit off. They traded him to Oakland for a 2011 1st round draft choice. So once again they will have a top 10 draft pick and still have a strong team.

Wait, you are patting Billy the Cheat on the back for making a move as such, yet you hold such a contempt for our GM.

Seymour was a leader on this team, but they made a decision to get some return value for him and moved him in place of letting younger talent take hold.

There.. my weekly jab in jest at Hazer.. lol.

New England Tells Richard Seymour: "It Is Payback Time."
by
Sonny

Scribe Written on September 09, 2009

Richard Seymour is not mad at the Raiders; Richard Seymour is mad at New England, and here's why...

When coach Cable said there was some issues that Seymour had to work out with New England, coach Cable was telling the truth.

Despite what all the media would like you to believe, New England did want Richard Seymour to sign an extension, and had been working with Seymour's agent on an extension.

Richard Seymour was given the impression by his agent that talks were going well. And Richard was expecting a new deal to finish his time in the NFL with the team that had drafted him. A trade was the last thing that he saw coming.

What Richard Seymour did not know is that New England, after talks with Seymour's agent over an extension, had decided that it was more than they wanted to pay.

New England also remembered the two times that Seymour had held out on them, forcing New England to cough up more money. At the time, Richard Seymour had stated on a TV show that it was "just business."

New England worked out a trade with Oakland without ever giving Richard Seymour or his agent the slightest hint it was going to happen.

Richard Seymour was under the impression that the extension talks were going well with New England, an impression no doubt given to him by his agent.

The end result is that New England traded Seymour and said goodbye. It is, after all, just business.

Richard Seymour had been blindsided by his team and his coach, and he's told coach Cable as much.

Richard Seymour wanted to take some time to talk to New England and his agent because he was under the impression, given to him from both New England and his agent, that he was getting an extension in New England.

That is what coach Cable was talking about when he stated that there were issues Richard Seymour had to take care of with New England.

Many in the media are coming up with all this speculation and know very little of what they are talking about.

For the Raiders' part, once Richard Seymour gets over the shock of New England blindsiding himin what was pure paybackhe has to move on.

So yes, Richard Seymour is not happy with being traded, and the media can and will twist that anyway they like.

Facts are that, because of the way it was done, Richard was not going to be happy no matter where he was traded, period.

My guess is that he realized he was played by both New England and his agent and was initially upset. But now he has settled down, and his agent has been talking with the Raiders on a long-term deal.

Either way, it does not really matter for the Raiders. If he shows up and plays, they win. If he decides to stay and not come out and play, the Raiders just call back in their No. 1 pick.

So no matter the anti-Raider spin the media wants to put out there, it is New England that has the most to lose if Seymour decides not to play in Oakland, not the Raiders.

My guess is that he will be at the Thursday practice. He has had plenty of time to let New England and his agent know just how much he feels they have screwed him.

But I guess that was just the New England way of saying goodbye to one of their great players, with the explanation that "it is just business."

But what a cold, cold business it is. I guess that is part of the reason it pays so well.

As for New England, you do not want to tick them offteam legend or notbecause they never forget, and payback is a bitch.

'Sonny' says the Raiders can call in their no1 pick if Seymour doesnt report. It depends on the terms of the trade but I've read that the deal is done and that is no longer possible.

It would crack me up if Seymour retires and the Raiders give up a 1st round pick for nothing.

Maybe that would be the final nail in the coffin for Al Davis' ownership.

I am one evil bastard. Now I can't decide if I am happy that Seymour might be forced back to N.E. in a highly disgruntled frame of mind, (no physical, no deal, right?) or the way that he got crapped on for crapping on his team...

All in all I am giddy about the whole damn thing. My best case scenario is he just retires and both teams get hosed. I assume that would hose both teams, so if it doesn't, I want the scenario that does.

TheKanataThrilla (16h) : That was terrible.
TheKanataThrilla (16h) : Watching that game in its entirety yesterday is proof positive that I am a football addict.
beast (17h) : And horrible time management multiple times... and not being able to score more than 3 points on a team with talent
beast (17h) : Realizing the Bears didn't fix it from the previous week and do the same thing, getting the game to overtime
beast (17h) : They probably are not tanking, but they've absolutely mismanagement some things, such as Vikings seeing the Packers blocked FG and realizing
Zero2Cool (18h) : Crazy of Bears to have that mindset that is
Zero2Cool (18h) : Hail Mary stop away from 5 - 2. Not sure how that flips to tanking. Crazy mindset if true
beast (18h) : I've quietly questioned if Bears are tanking on purpose... they suddenly got a lot worse with some simple concepts like 101 clock management
wpr (20h) : Watching bares fans melt down over how putrid their team is, so enjoyable. It's the gift that keeps on giving.
Mucky Tundra (27-Dec) : The Seattle Seahawks defeat the Chicago Bears 6-3. Jason Myers had 6 RBIs for Seattle while Cairo Santos had 3 RBI for Chicago
beast (27-Dec) : Not nessarily, he might of been injured either way. He's playing about 50% of the games the last 4 years
Zero2Cool (26-Dec) : If they'd been more patient with him, he'd be back already. Putting him out there vs Bears caused him to tweak it and here we are.
packerfanoutwest (26-Dec) : well this is his last season with the PAck, book it
beast (26-Dec) : Sounds like no Alexander (again), I'm wondering if his time with the Packers is done
Zero2Cool (26-Dec) : Could ban beast and I still don't think anyone catches him.
Mucky Tundra (26-Dec) : Houston getting dog walked by Baltimore
packerfanoutwest (25-Dec) : Feliz Navidad!
Zero2Cool (25-Dec) : Merry Christmas!
beast (25-Dec) : Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
beast (24-Dec) : Sounds like no serious injuries from the Saints game and Jacobs and Watson should play in the Vikings game
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : both games Watson missed, Packers won
Martha Careful (24-Dec) : I hope all of you have a Merry Christmas!
Mucky Tundra (24-Dec) : Oh I know about Jacobs, I just couldn't pass up an opportunity to mimic Zero lol
buckeyepackfan (24-Dec) : Jacobs was just sat down, Watson re-injured that knee that kept him out 1 game earlier
buckeyepackfan (24-Dec) : I needed .14 that's. .14 points for the whole 4th quarter to win and go to the SB. Lol
Mucky Tundra (24-Dec) : Jacobs gonna be OK???
Zero2Cool (24-Dec) : Watson gonna be OK???
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : Inactives tonight for the Pack: Alexander- knee Bullard - ankle Williams - quad Walker -ankle Monk Heath
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : No Jaire, but hopefully the front 7 destroys the line of scrimmage & forces Rattler into a few passes to McKinney.
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : minny could be #1 seed and the Lions #5 seed
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : We'd have same Division and Conference records. Strength of schedule we edge them
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I just checked. What tie breaker?
bboystyle (23-Dec) : yes its possible but unlikely. If we do get the 5th, we face the NFCS winner
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Ahh, ok.
bboystyle (23-Dec) : yes due to tie breaker
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I mean, unlikely, yes, but mathematically, 5th is possible by what I'm reading.
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : If Vikings lose out, Packers win out, Packers get 5th, right?
bboystyle (23-Dec) : Minny isnt going to lose out so 5th seed is out of the equation. We are playing for the 6th or 7th seed which makes no difference
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : beast, the ad revenue goes to the broadcast company but they gotta pay to air the game on their channel/network
beast (23-Dec) : If we win tonight the game is still relative in terms of 5th, 6th or 7th seed... win and it's 5th or 6th, lose and it's 6th or 7th
