Whats it take for a player to be mvp of the season? ... its 34-1 odds for arod

Do they pretty much have to win the SB and make great plays throughout the whole season?

The MVP is awarded before the playoffs even begin, if I'm not mistaken.

Rodgers is certainly capable of a stellar season, IF:

- He stays functionally healthy - meaning we're not dealing with him on the field in diminished capacity simply because that's still better than what we have on the bench. No 3-4 game stretches of sub-par play due to injury. Obviously he can't miss games due to injury, either. Of course, this isn't just up to him, which leads to...

- Continued good play and consistency from the OL. If he's got time and isn't running for his life every 3rd play, his chances of staying healthy and playing at a high level go up dramatically. It'd also be nice if...

- Grant returns to form and provides the the chance for some balance. If defenses have to worry about the run instead of pinning their ears back and rushing #12 nonstop, his chances to stay clean and play well again go up. If defensive coaches have to take time to gameplan against the run game, that's another bonus.

- Everyone stays - more or less - healthy. They can survive a few short-term absences in most spots on the offense, but losing key guys for the year or having injuries pile up would hurt them and Rodgers just like they would any other team in the league.

He's got work to do himself, but if the framework around him stays sound, I think he's capable of progressing in those areas in which he needs to improve.

MVP is another thing altogether, and there's no way I'm going to predict it at this point. That's just silly.

Yeah. But the NFL MVP and Heisman are getting to be more and more jokes to me.... it's just the most hyped QB .... sometimes RB .... but that basically it. I mean sometimes the player isn't even the best player on their team... or even their side of the ball on their team. Just over hyped players.

I'm willing to make a bet that Brady will have better stats than Rodgers, and its basically because of the styles of offense that both teams run.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

It's. Just. Hype.

As a fan, I would hope that people enjoy these types of articles. Yeah, yeah, all anyone cares about is wins. But, even if it's a 16-0 season, you only get one game a week. You gotta read something in between, right?

So, enjoy when writers give our team props. Enjoy when our QB gets hype. Christ, some people just can't be happy, whether Cris Carter is talking us down or this dude is talking us up, nothing works. Enjoy the damn article, please.

Rodgers is going to run away with the MVP this year after he throws for 5000 yards and has 52 tds and another 14 rushing, and finish with a 153 qb rating.

Not even a doubt.

packerfanoutwest (10-Feb) : another crap halftime show
TheKanataThrilla (10-Feb) : I think it is over, but then I think of Atlanta and want Philly to go in with the same intensity in the second half
