Right now, I don't envy Thompsons job in the next 36 hours or so. He's going to have to make some tough cuts and probably take some risk on who he thinks he might be able to sneak onto the practice squad.
I thought Jarrett Bush did enough to earn a spot on the roster tonight. One play across the middle, he made a nice deflection of a pass away from the receiver. It honestly wouldn't shock me if they kept him as Collin's backup at FS and cut Peprah and Rouse.
Underwood has not really impressed me at all. He was targeted several times tonight and just looked out of position. Same with Ford. I'd like to keep Underwood on the practice squad if at all possible and keep Blackmon, Lee, and Bush as the reserve corners behind Woodson, Harris, and Wiliams. The one KR lee had looked really good before he injured his knee and you can never have enough guys who can return kicks imo and I just can't see the team giving up on a second round pick despite being a bit banged up. Look how long the team held onto Blackmon despite his rash of injuries.
RB and FB are probably going to be the toughest choices they'll have to make. The only guy who I'd consider a lock is Grant right now. Jackson's ankle injury really muddied the waters. How serious is it? Do you IR him and keep Grant, Wynn, and Sutton or all 4? Lumps had a couple of nice runs tonight, but I think he's still practice squad bound at this point. Hall and Kuhn are a solid pair, but you have to consider the ceilings for everyone at this point. Johnson has the higher one imo and I'd hate to see the team give up on him, and cut him loose in hopes of sneaking him onto the practice squad where another team hurting at FB might swoop him and claim him off waivers. Hall and Johnson would be the two I'd still keep. Hall makes it because he's the better receiving FB and Johnson because of his long term potential and can basically knock people's block off in goal line situations.
