He's back for good? Thank him for me for doing a job that needs to be done.

He is back for good. I just learned that he will not be re-uping when his time expires in 6 months.
He had planned on doing so. My guess is that he feels he has fallen behind in his pursuit of college and a career.

Good man, good man. He's making a smart move, in my not-so-humble opinion. I got out and went back to school, too. It's the only benefit I expect my country to give me. Once I've gotten started in my chosen career, I want to pay taxes like the rest of my fellow citizens.

Speaking very selfishly here, I would like to say I'm rather touched by wpr's displays of emotion vis a vis his son. My father never would have gone on an internet forum and written about me like this, much less evinced any excitement that I had made it home. To this day he's still more interested in weaseling war stories out of me than expressing any sort of appreciation I made it back. I know it's unjust of me to say so, but sometimes I wonder if he even would have noticed if I came home draped in a flag. Your son is blessed to have you as a father, sir.

Thank you nonstop.

All dad's have a way of aggravating us and surprising us all in the same instant.
I know my Dad and my relationship was not the best. I finally decided he grew up in an age where men didn't express their feelings very much. He lived on a farm during the depression.
He was on the road for a lot of my life and I was raised by my mother, sister, grandmother and aunt so I prob do a better job at this feelings thing.
My relationship with my dad didn't get strong until after we found out that he had cancer. It was a 5 year battle that changed all of our lives. I have more patience and understanding about my children because of my dad. (Both because of the good and bad things that I went thru.)
I pray that your relationship doesn't have to wait until death stares you in the face. Last week was the 2nd anniversary of my dad's death. What I wouldn't give to have him here today when my son steps off that bus.
Thank you for sharing. It truly means a lot to me.

Adversity like that always strengthens the bond, if overcome. I have the same with my dad. Great revelations by the both of you.

dfosterf (25-Jun) : You do have to interpret the boring fine print, but all stockholders all see he is on the ballot
dfosterf (25-Jun) : It also says he is subject to another ballot in 2028. I recall nothing of this nature with Murphy
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy is on my ballot subject to me penciling him in as a no.

dfosterf (25-Jun) : Because I was too lazy to change my address, I haven't voted fot years until this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
Zero2Cool (25-Jun) : Maybe wicked wind chill made it worse?
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : And then he signs with Cleveland in the offseason
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : @SharpFootball WR Diontae Johnson just admitted he refused to enter a game in 41° weather last year in Baltimore because he felt “ice cold”
Zero2Cool (24-Jun) : Yawn. Rodgers says he is "pretty sure" this be final season.
Zero2Cool (23-Jun) : PFT claims Packers are having extension talks with Zach Tom, Quay Walker.
