He was not happy at first but do you think he is enjoying or getting in grove in his new position? I think he would better standing up because he would be in full stride when he attacks the O Line. He is a powerful guy as is but I believe he is more lethal now than before.

Where did he ever say or even imply he was unhappy?

If you look at his interviews he was not happy with his new position standing up. Of course he is a smart person he did not say it on paper but, you have read between the lines.

Kampman doesn't say anything about the reported change to the 3-4 despite the media's insistence = unhappy.

Kampman doesn't say anything about the change to the 3-4 after playing quite well = happy.

Or so the media will have you believe.

Isn't it strange that Kampman returned a fumble for a TD, the first time since High School after his HS coach was killed? Kampman even mentioned something about not having done that since High School.

I'm assuming he is referring to how the media has made him out to be unhappy. But really, i've noticed a lot of journalism tries to take a lot of things out of context to give a completely different feel to what a player has said. I would be extremely surprised if he was unhappy with the switch, hes probably very stressed about his performance in the new spot, though.

Well that's the reason why I am saying he may finally be happy because he had fun returning the fumble to the endzone. "I'm learning it," Kampman said. "I don't really have a whole lot else to say." Now either he was not liking the change at first because he has to learn the OLB position or he will have less sacks this year.

I thought Kampy cleared the matter up: he just wasn't happy about getting all the attention with a switch to the 3-4 because the 10 other starters on Defense were going through the exact same switch also.

He has openly called playing OLB in the 3-4 "different" than being a 4-3 DE, which it obviously is. Never has he implied that he has been unhappy with the move; he has always said it was going to take getting used to moving to a new position.

For what it's worth, I've always maintained that success will determine Kampman's happiness on this team. If the 3-4 installation is successful, and this Defense continues to operate in the regular season near the level it is doing right now then Kampman will be more than fine with the move.

Off-Season = boredom for NFL journalists so they obviously have to blow things out of proportion. I wouldn't say he was thrilled about it, but I also wouldn't say he was mad at the Packers for making a move which was heavily implied or perhaps even stated by some outlets. I really don't know.

Kampman will be happy as long as the team wins. He's a team player.
