The Green Bay Packers are concerned enough about their backup quarterback spot that they could get involved in trade talks with Tampa Bay, which is shopping quarterbacks Byron Leftwich, Luke McCown and Josh Johnson. A league source said

Personally, i think we should try and aqcuire a new backup quarterback as i don't see either Matt Flynn or Brian Brohm atm as being truly capable although i would either wait and hope that tampa will cut one of the quarterbacks or make a move for Tyler Thigpen instead.

Thoughts?

Brohm has shown he is not ready to be a back-up.
Looks like now one of them may be going bye-bye if a trade is made.

TwinkieGorilla, what's wrong with me is that my writing and typing speed is in the bottom 2% of the country due to a head injury i had, which is why you beat me to the first post.

Yea unless Flynn is injured I don't see why we would want to dispose of Brohm just yet. Give him another year and see what he can do. Plus, Flynn doesn't look all that terrible, and a new QB would have to learn the offense giving Flynn a one-up on almost anyone we think about bringing it...although it would be funny if we got T Jack lol.

McCown hasn't proven much more than that he's easy to beat out for a starter's role.
