Dimebag was a true guitar hero. an original! w/o a doubt one of the best of the last 15 years.

I will never forget Pantera at alpine valley for their Vulgar display of power tour. just incredible!!

if you've ever been to alpine valley for a slayer or pantrera concert, there is nothing like that mosh-pit on the hill. total mayhem.

pantera opened for megadeth and skidrow, and shredded both bands. that hill was complete chaos. it was literally raining beer cups and sod from people throwing crap everywhere. I got into a fist fight during the song "RESPECT/Walk". I remember punching this dude in the jaw so hard his eyes rolled back in his head and went white. Sorry to that guy, I was younger, meaner, and caught up in the pit.

there was literally 5000 ppl in that pit.

i wore the t-shirt from that concert for years. on the front it had that image from the vulgar display of power album, and on the back it said

"FUCKING HOSTILE"!!

Cemetary gates is still one of my favorite songs of all time!!

RIP Dimebag you are true guitar virtuoso !!!!!!
So if you meet me Have some courtesy, Have some sympathy, and some taste

Pantera is probably my second favorite metal band behind Slayer. I gotta give Slayer the nod cause I seen them play live at Mayhem and got to meet Kerry King. Sadly, Pantera, I can never see live. They're still one of my fav bands of all time. Good to see Madden recognizes them too!

They weren't out very long, so they just played a few songs and introduced themselves.

I actually missed some of it because i wanted to get some water before Met. started

I like REAL music. I mean, stuff you can sing to. Not SCREAM too.
But thats just me.

You're a singer, so it makes sense. I'm a drummer, so give me some Vinny Paul.

Phil always had a nice mix of clean vocals with the harsh. Another reason I was sold on Pantera.

Oh, and REAL music...well, i guess my REAL music would be stuff with difficult drum beats behind it as opposed to the "boom chick boom chick" stuff you find in genre's such as country.

Pantera got me into the heavier stuff, although now I mainly listen to them for Phil's vocals, I've grown out of groove metal. Down (side project with Anselmo on vocals, sure you've heard of them) are more up my street these days.

Domination is one song I'm looking to learn to play with drums. The chrous' double pedal parts aren't really that hard and there's is little else with challenge on that song.
This is a placeholder

Domination is crazy fun to play on the drums! For some reason I'm a big fan of 5 minutes alone on the drums too. Love the way the beat switches in parts.

Martha Careful (6-Jan) : watching the Vikings and Lions it's understandable why they swept the Packers. So much better product
