Everyone hated him two days ago (myself included) and now everybody loves him (myself included 🙂

EVERYONE hated him??? What??? Are you serious?? I don't think many people if any "hated" him. We just wanted him to get into camp and start contributing. Frustrated? Maybe. But that's has NOTHING to do with hate. I get "frustrated" at my girl friend sometimes. Does that mean I "hate" her? No way. I love her to death. We were just getting anxious that's all.

Geeeeez, talk about exaggeration. Cracks me up.

Generally speaking when you see the words 'love' 'hate' and a smiley faced emoticon all used within the same sentence, the emotions of the poster are intended to be an exageration. I obviously did not LITERALLY mean that everyone HATED him, much like I didn't mean that everyone LITERARLLY LOVED him. At ease, at ease!

Fair enough. Sometimes I just get frustrated at the far fetched exaggerations that go on here. Not directed at any one poster, but things seem to be very black and white in Packer Land as of late. Duality can be very annoying sometimes!

But yeah, moral of the story, I don't think (at least I HOPE not) that any Packer fan "hates" Raji at this point. If he gives us a reason to hate him, well, that's a different story. But c'mon guys, let's at least give this guy a chance!

As I said in a previous post, there's no guarantee that he will be a stud, but I think he undobtedly shows the most potential to be a dominant NT (whenever he makes that transition) since Gilbert...so I'm definitely rooting for the guy, even if I was frustrated (better word usage 🙂 with the contract situation.

On another note...the Jags just signed Monroe...domino effect?

Jags sign Monroe...hmmmm

The Jacksonville Jaguars and offensive tackle Eugene Monroe, the eighth overall pick in the draft, have reached an agreement on a five-year contract.......

Monroe's deal was expected to be worth a little more than the reported five-year, $28.5 million ($18 million guaranteed) that the ninth pick, Green Bay Packers defensive tackle B.J. Raji , agreed to Thursday, according to the Times-Union, which cited an unnamed NFL source.

From jsonline:

Green Bay Defensive lineman B.J. Raji passed his physical, a conditioning run and the eyeball test Friday in his first official day as a member of the Green Bay Packers.

The team presented Raji to reporters for a late-afternoon briefing after he signed a five-year, $28.5 million contract containing just less than $18 million in guarantees.

Raji looked fit during the 10-minute session, said his conditioning was good and indicated that he actually lost a little weight during his 14-day hiatus. The Packers list him at 337 pounds.

"I tried to eat a lot more lean things," Raji said. "Just watched what I ate. I made sure it didn't get out of control. I really wasn't doing much besides working out."

The last time that a Packers' draft choice on defense was out of camp longer than Raji was cornerback T.J. Buckley, who didn't arrive until 50 days after his reporting date in 1992 and then had a forgettable start to his forgettable career in Green Bay.

Two weeks surely isn't seven weeks, and Raji appeared confident that his chances for an all-rookie type of season weren't the least bit tarnished.

"Definitely not," he said. "I still got a little less than a month to get ready for the opening game."

Raji flew out of Green Bay on Tuesday night and, contrary to the recommendation of his agent that he head for California, went to Boston. He worked out for two days at his alma mater, Boston College, before agreement was reached Thursday night.

He had spent several weeks in Green Bay working out by himself on the football field and track at Bay View Middle School in Howard.

Driving around I got a few honks but they let me do my thing, said Raji. I tried to go four or five days a week. I was running some gassers and some striders on the track. Laps. Technique things.

Although Raji said he never went by the Packers facility, he seemed inspired by telephone calls of encouragement from running back Ryan Grant and several rookies.

As for becoming an instant millionaire, Raji broke into a broad smile.

The best thing about it is I can support... and give back to my immediate family, which has been there for me, he said. The business side, obviously, it feels great. But I still have to prove myself. I dont get no special treatment.

As for the sometimes tense negotiations, Raji said neither side was to blame for the delay.
The Packers apparently will work with Raji on conditioning over the weekend before he makes his practice debut in pads Monday afternoon.

To create room for Raji, wide receiver Patrick Williams was placed on injured reserve. Williams was out with a hamstring injury for eight days before returning Thursday night.

I think you guys are taking his comment the wrong way. I think he's just jealous and wants a kiss from aadp.

This week's practices should be interesting with the battles after preseason game #1 and Raji in the mix. I'll also be keeping an eye on the people banged up. I would like to see more of our OLBs Saturday.

Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
dfosterf (15-Apr) : I may have to move
dfosterf (15-Apr) : My wife just told the ancient Japanese sushi dude not enough rice under his fish
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : Did they know that at the time or was that something the realized afterwards?
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Van Ness played most of season with broken thumb
wpr (9-Apr) : yay
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Mark Murphy says Steelers likely to protect Packers game. Meaning, no Ireland
Zero2Cool (8-Apr) : Struggling to figure out what text editor options are needed and which are 'nice to have'
Mucky Tundra (8-Apr) : *CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP*
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : WR who said he'd break Xavier Worthy 40 time...and ran slower than you
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Who?
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Texas’ WR Isaiah Bond is scheduled to visit the Bills, Browns, Chiefs, Falcons, Packers and Titans starting next week.
