I just found out that I'm going to be in Chicago the weekend of September 20, which is the weekend of the GB/Cinn game. Considering that we MS guys get very few chances to be anywhere close to GB on gameday, I thought I'd try to work thing out so I can go to the game.

Would it be advisable to try to make it from Chicago to GB on gameday? I've made the trip before but it was on a Saturday...not sure what to expect in terms of traffic. Any advice would be appreciated...I'd sure like to make it to this game. That is, if I can find tickets (that's another subject for another post:).

Edited to reflect that it's the Bengals game that weekend, not the Lions. Even better...I really hate the Bengals.

is that a gold package game?

if so, traffic will be crazy depending on when you go.

I think you would have to leave Chicago about 630 am to get there by 10..

There is a train that goes from Chicago to Milwaukee ( amtrack) then maybe rent a car from Milwaukee?

Other wise go right from Chicago, and I suggest going to get something to eat after the game in the atrium maybe..Spend a hour or 2 up there after the game..By that time traffic calms down a lot, and will make ride home a little smoother

LTF: Thanks. On my last trip I stayed in a town about 30 miles out of GB so I missed the traffic. In fact, we were the first people to park in the C-stores across from Lambeau. It might be wise for me to do that again.

That is excellent advice. The first game I went to, I was worried about how much money I spent, and didn't have as much fun as I could have.

Since then, when I go, if I want it, I get it. There is no sense in going if you are going to pinch pennies.

Although I will say that meeting you, Dodd and his dad, Phil, and vegOmatic was the best part of my trip. Good times.

Yes! Just got 100% confirmation on the Chicago trip today. I priced PFT tickets and they look very reasonable. All I need now is a rental car and a halfway decent road map:). Oh, and a hotel in Manitowok (or however you spell the darn place).

Manitowoc - Good idea to get up there the night before. I wouldn't wait til game day. It's a Gold Pkg game so traffic will be thick as skeeters on a dawg in Minnesota! Have a great time! Look to the North & wave at the old hometown for me! Go Pack!

I stayed at this place for a November game..I reserved the room in October...
