1pm Sunday I'll be at the Ozaukee County Fair, singing for my "Ozaukee Idol" life. I'm not as nervous as last year (so far!) so i'm hoping to give a MUCH better performance.
We also are doing a group song at the beginning of the contest.
The weather is supposed to be nice, (although hot) so it should be a pretty good sized crowd. Last year was around 400.

Well, there are 6 Idol finalists, and 8 Junior Idol finalists. I actually am one of two guys singing, but the other guy didn't show up for the rehersal, so he has to sit and watch.
I'm not sure if anyone will be recording it or not. I did ask one guy i know from Cedarburg, and if he comes he will record it and post it for me. So if he does come, which he said he wants to, it will be put on youtube. I'll be sure to let you know!

Well.....figured I'd follow up and let you all know how it turned out. Trippster showed up to watch me "live, and in person".

Thats right, FIRST PLACE!!!
A friend I met at last year's Idol competition showed up, and he told me he recorded it and will post it on youtube by tomorrow night. He had to leave before the end, so he didn't get the awards presentation.
But man........was it FUN! I wasn't nearly as scared as last year. (I was still VERY nervous, but had so much fun on stage!)
My wife dressed me up and picked the song for me, and off i went!
Now i have to sing at a "Summer Sounds" concert in Cedarburg in the next couple of weeks. And one of the judges is doing a gig at the "Milwaukee Ale House" in Grafton on the 14th, and wants me to come by and sing with him. So i might try to fit that in too.

HEY RICK!!!
I just realized.......I have to sing the national anthem at a Milwaukee Brewers game........got any motivational speches for that??? (I thought i was nervous today......in front of ALL those PEOPLE!?!?) My history was being raised as a J.W.........so i didn't get to sing it when i was young......you know, when memorizing was easy? So my wife wants to hire you to hold the smelling salts so when i pass out......but i don't know when that will be, so why sweat it, hey???

My friend emailed me, he tried to put on the video, but had some problems with youtube. But he said he will keep trying, and will get it done as soon as he can.

Who finished second? Was it the other guy... or a girl?

What exactly did you win for coming in first? A trophy? Cash? Or God forbid, all of the Wisconsin Cheese you can eat for one year?
