I'm really starting to think that Brett isn't coming back.

Sean Jensen, of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, reports Bus Cook, agent for free-agent QB Brett Favre (Jets), told ESPN's Rachel Nichols that Favre is not ready to decide on his future at this time. Cook said he talked with Favre at length Friday, July 24. Cook said a decision could be made at the beginning or middle of next week.

... because of the efforts of Vikings players including Adrian Peterson, Jared Allen and Steve Hutchinson, all of whom have now begun calling and texting Favre in an attempt to convince him to become Minnesota's starting quarterback.

Just knowing Vikes position, I am all for Favre suiting up! LOL!!!

Money is not an issue, as a source says that Favre and the Vikings have negotiated a one-year contract worth approximately $10 million. But the quarterback has not decided whether to sign it.

If money isn't an issue why does he need $10 million? Can't get by with $1 million? Ridiculous.

Ok, sorry Engineer but I have to nimonate this post as the most insane of all.

Yeah, Brett, refuse the 10mil they are offering you and just take one mil.

WTF??????????

Yeah, but that's after negotiation. I asume that the Vikings started out lower and Mr. Cook started out higher. If it's not about the money at all, why not take the Vikings lowest offer?

I think the point was to illustrate that the inability to get an acceptable contract was not the reason he hasn't committed yet, since a contract is already negotiated. Hence, Favre hasn't committed to playing yet, but the reason isn't about money, since the money has already been decided.

okay Favre bashers (yes, Cheesey, you too!)

What id he decides not to play and comes out and says it was because he couldnt do it to his legacy as a packer.

Will you still bash him or give him kudos?

I hardly see myself as a Favre basher and I would love to see him play again. Enjoyed seeing him as a Jet and I will enjoy seeing him as a Viking... if he doesn't make the team too succesfull.

That said, yes, then I would give him some kudos. Of course this entire thing has made me lose some respect for him. I mean, again, he could've came back inmediatly, but apparently the 'itch to play' started just after the Jets released him and the Vikings could contact him. I very much doubt that that is concedence.

Then again, I would like him some more, but still, this saga has taken something away from the mystique already. Might not be fair, but I just feel it has.

Trip you know the answer to that already they will praise him for not playing, I think the biggest thing the bashers fear is that he comes back and plays like he did in 2007 and the Vikes make a long run in the playoffs thus all the negative comments. I never heard people bashing sharper, Longwell, and fergie for going to the Vikes.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be šŸ™‚ (PS, Zero should charge for this)
