To be honest I ignore all these sexual assault cases against athletes now after Kobe Bryant and the Duke LaCrosse team. I'm not saying this didn't happen but it will be settled in court. Of course, this women's allegations are quite detailed which is not usually the case. But, in retrospect she also has had psychological issues in the past.

she filed a civil case before a criminal case was filed?

Why would she not want to press charges?

Because there's no physical evidence, most likely. Semen is only found in 15% of rapes, and considering 90% of alleged sexual assaults are by significant others or close friends, most alleged victims continue to associate/date/fuck their alleged rapists for days, weeks, even years after the incidents allegedly occurred.

In other words, the burden of proof is much lower in a civil case.
