Hazer, AR is going to shut you up real good this year 🙂.

The only way Rodgers could shut dhazer up is by riding a flying unicycle through his fantasy land, ricocheting footballs off of his dome. He sure can't shut him up by playing well.

There really is no reason for hazer to hate Aaron Rodgers like that. It's obvious that it's only because Ted Thompson brought him here.

So hazer, would you rather have a 22 TD and 22 INT QB or a 28 TD and a 13 INT QB?

Don't give me that bullshit like "well Brett Favre only did bad because of his bad shoulder." BULLSHIT!!

Brett is always the one saying "I won't go out and play if I don't think I can contribute to my team." So obviously he thought he could contribute.

To be honest i could careless if my qb threw for 50 ints aslong as we were winning the games. In the end that's all i want is wins. The only stat that matters is the Wins stat plain and simple.

And once again here is my story. I hate TT, do i think Ted Thompson wanted Brett gone? Hell Ya. Do i hate Ted Thompson just because of last year? Nope i hated his conservative style from day 1. Do i hate Rodgers? Nope but i refuse to praise a guy for one good year when the team lost games. Like they say every dog has its day. If he can do it for another 2 years then i will start giving him the praise like most of you people do. So for you people calling me a Favre fister is way off.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

You know I do agree with you on Thompson wanting him gone, but you'll never see an adminission of this in the press. I don't think McCarthey wanted him anymore truthfully, and the reason would be his recklessness and Brett's whole aura of being the face of the Packers. I think Brett became uncoachable during his Sherman tenure. Brett became above the Packers and we as fans are as resposible as well as the local and national media.

So I guess we've established, I'll be calling you Tator (yes Cheesey, we will leave it with an or not an er).

Is it September yet? IMHO both sides of this argument are somewhat correct.
AR did have a good year, the defense did stink it up, my thinking is MM needs to let AR loose and see if he is the QB everyone wants him to be.

Instead of sitting on a 3 point lead or just settling for 3 when 7 was very possible, MM needs to let AR do what he does best, put points on the board. Then if the D falters, maybe the Pack will have a 14 or 17 point lead.

Good point whoever posted last year is last year. Of course some on this forum can't leave anything go, {damn if we only would have drafted Barry Sanders)

I see that the "labelers are still around".
The big srory this year(if it happens)is going to be Brett coming back to play against The Packers, live with it, deal with it, it probably will happen.

I am a huge BF fan, does that mean I don't care about The Packers anymore?

No what it means is I will be enjoying being able to watch #4 at least one more year, but when it come the day he is playing against The Pack, I will treat him like any other qb.
I was addicted to The Hokey Pokey, but I turned myself around!

A QB who doesn't throw 32 INTs wouldn't have to throw 16 game winning TDs. Plus the rest of the supporting cast would be amazing to go 16-0 with a QB throwing 16 TDs and 32 INTs.

Have a better passer rating of 46.6 in the last 5 minutes of a game and be able to substain a drive so the defense don't have to be on the field :p

"dhazer" wrote:

While we're on the subject of stats in the last five minutes of games, I ran across an interesting one the other day. Teams down by one score driving against our defense with five minutes or less on the clock had a 76% success rate. :p

And you know what helps sustain drives? A good running game, which we didn't have last year, especially at the end of games.

As a whole, I think it's safe to say our team in general was very unclutch last year, but if you want to go on blaming Aaron Rodgers for that I'm not going to stop you.

I do, but I'm hesitant to intentionally base an analysis on the easy-to-look-at plays only, because they get the majority of the media/fan attention as it is.

For example, wasn't there a game last year where Favre threw a pick 6 to relinquish the lead in the 4th quarter, and then his D bailed him out with some fantastic play? That was only 1 of 22 INTs, and it doesn't go down as him losing a game. I'll try to find the specifics of that game after my meeting this morning... The very fact that I don't remember the details sort of reinforces what I'm talking about though. I never even saw a replay of it in the ESPN/NFL Network recaps, just saw it live.

We ought to just be happy we got the guy.

We could be sitting here with a 1st round pick no panning out like so many or mortgaging the future having to give away picks to find somebody decent or putting the future of the team on hold bringing in an old soldier to get us through the year.

The guy played above anybody's expectations as a first year starter. The deal was the rest of the team was supposed to pick it up and give him the support he needed. What he got was a lot more pressure allowed than both starting tackles had ever allowed before, blown blocking assignments by the OL, and a defense that would allow a score late giving him the ball back with an entire field and less than two minutes to get there.

The Vikes and Bears have looked for a guy half as good as Rodgers for YEARS now finally giving in to desperation and throwing all the chips in the middle and we STILL probably have the guy that will be better than what either team got this year.

All this nit-picking the guy is rediculous. You do realize both the Vikes and Bears would have jumped on Rodgers in a heartbeat had the chance allowed it, right?

But it's not as though BF took his team to the super bowl last year.....he didn't even lead them to the playoffs. So other then winning more games then we did (which some were in spite of him, not because of him) we ended up in the same boat as the Jets. No playoffs for either.

I do not look forward to a Favre v.s. Rodgers game.

If it happens, I feel Ted Thompson will regret ever chasing that hillbilly out of Green Bay.

Bottom line, Ted Thompson needs to make the playoffs this season, or his job is in jeopardy.

With talent such as Bill Cower, Mike Holmgren available for GM and coaching jobs, if we do not make the playoffs this season, I have seen enough of Ted Thompson supposed five year plan.

Because often times people hear what they want to hear. Because people theorize as to Rodgers' intent or character as a person. Because usually in those cases peoples' instincts are, in fact, wrong.
