You know I do agree with you on Thompson wanting him gone

A QB who doesn't throw 32 INTs wouldn't have to throw 16 game winning TDs. Plus the rest of the supporting cast would be amazing to go 16-0 with a QB throwing 16 TDs and 32 INTs.

I do, but I'm hesitant to intentionally base an analysis on the easy-to-look-at plays only, because they get the majority of the media/fan attention as it is.

For example, wasn't there a game last year where Favre threw a pick 6 to relinquish the lead in the 4th quarter, and then his D bailed him out with some fantastic play? That was only 1 of 22 INTs, and it doesn't go down as him losing a game. I'll try to find the specifics of that game after my meeting this morning... The very fact that I don't remember the details sort of reinforces what I'm talking about though. I never even saw a replay of it in the ESPN/NFL Network recaps, just saw it live.

You would need an all-star / pro bowl defensive starters in that case.

We ought to just be happy we got the guy.

We could be sitting here with a 1st round pick no panning out like so many or mortgaging the future having to give away picks to find somebody decent or putting the future of the team on hold bringing in an old soldier to get us through the year.

The guy played above anybody's expectations as a first year starter. The deal was the rest of the team was supposed to pick it up and give him the support he needed. What he got was a lot more pressure allowed than both starting tackles had ever allowed before, blown blocking assignments by the OL, and a defense that would allow a score late giving him the ball back with an entire field and less than two minutes to get there.

The Vikes and Bears have looked for a guy half as good as Rodgers for YEARS now finally giving in to desperation and throwing all the chips in the middle and we STILL probably have the guy that will be better than what either team got this year.

All this nit-picking the guy is rediculous. You do realize both the Vikes and Bears would have jumped on Rodgers in a heartbeat had the chance allowed it, right?

ok are you guys ready for this. I have watched the last video and the red carpet video and i was actually impressed with Rodgers. I just don't understand how he can be so good in some interviews and an ass in others.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

There really is no reason for hazer to hate Aaron Rodgers like that. It's obvious that it's only because Ted Thompson brought him here.

So hazer, would you rather have a 22 TD and 22 INT QB or a 28 TD and a 13 INT QB?

Don't give me that bullshit like "well Brett Favre only did bad because of his bad shoulder." BULLSHIT!!

Brett is always the one saying "I won't go out and play if I don't think I can contribute to my team." So obviously he thought he could contribute.

"Zero2Cool" wrote:

I'd have to ask, when did those 22 and 28 TD's happen as well as when did those 22 INT's and 13 INT's happen in each game and what were the results of said TD's/INT's?

I'd rather have a QB throw 16 game winning TD scores with 32 INT's than lose 12 games with a QB throwing 38 TD's and 10 INT's.

I agree with that premise.
But it's not as though BF took his team to the super bowl last year.....he didn't even lead them to the playoffs. So other then winning more games then we did (which some were in spite of him, not because of him) we ended up in the same boat as the Jets. No playoffs for either.

I do not look forward to a Favre v.s. Rodgers game.

If it happens, I feel Ted Thompson will regret ever chasing that hillbilly out of Green Bay.

Bottom line, Ted Thompson needs to make the playoffs this season, or his job is in jeopardy.

With talent such as Bill Cower, Mike Holmgren available for GM and coaching jobs, if we do not make the playoffs this season, I have seen enough of Ted Thompson supposed five year plan.

WRONG!

The Green Bay Packers need to make the playoffs, not Ted Thompson. Christ is that getting annoying. The Packers are FAR bigger than their GM, whomever it may be.

Because often times people hear what they want to hear. Because people theorize as to Rodgers' intent or character as a person. Because usually in those cases peoples' instincts are, in fact, wrong.

(Basically everyone who got their panties in a twist about the Rodgers interview on Kampman failed to take into account a number of likely factors -- not the least of which was a little sarcasm at the beginning of the interview. But, oh well, I guess I'm just theorizing myself.)
William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.

Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024

dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately

Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : Did they know that at the time or was that something the realized afterwards?
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Van Ness played most of season with broken thumb
wpr (9-Apr) : yay
