beside that the rest was pretty normal what do people expect him to say ? The Truth lol that would never come out.

You missed the point completely...no more excuses about new QB's or new defense etc...the players need to perform. It's a great attitude that your team needs to have in order to be successful.

you notice how a few little words can be taken in different ways? To me it sounded like he was using Brett as an excuse last year, and Mass and 68 took it a different way.
This is the reason i asked.

I think just like how some people took brett's waffeling as an excuse of why we did bad. The same thing occured within the packers players ...
Some people it effected in a certain way and they voiced it. Obviously it didnt effect DD and jennings that much; and I felt by his statement that he was saying all those players whom either were effected or used it as an excuse wouldnt have it anymore.

And I agree; if anything - when they would play minn. and brett was on the opposing team they should play that much harder to kick the snott out of minn.

I think it's pretty clear it was a distraction last year. Tell me how it couldn't of been?

I'm not sure if they're using it as an excuse though. I'm sure some are. I would say it played a factor, but obviously the defense was a bigger factor on why the team won only six times.

Jennings' attitude is about what I have too. Don't care and whatever happens... happens.

What else could he have said? Is that really worth asking? "no comment", "hope he does", "wish he was our QB", etc ... he said "I don't care", personally, i love that. No one on the Packers should care, including Charles Woodson.

"Zero2Cool" wrote:

Woodson should care. He can no longer sleep through meeting and practice since Tavarias wont be closing his eyes and hoping for the best when we play the Vikings. Favre will be solid at least. Something the Vikes havent had for some time.

As cheesy and others have said, it was if nothing else a constant distraction.

But it's a year removed, Jennings and Rodgers are on fire right now (according to another thread) so brett can go on and be an attention starved douche elsewhere, and the rest of us can sit back and watch Aaron Rodgers, Donald Driver, GJ, and Jones post astronomical numbers this year!

I think the term "distractions" are just a cop out for poor play or results. They're professionals. They don't love Brett like fans do and even if they did, I don't think it makes any difference in practice and especially a game? Aaron played great. Maybe the Brett thing motivated him to succeed. I know it would do that to me.

Do you not have any clue the work ethic that Charles Woodson maintains? He watches more film and studies harder than most in the entire NFL, per reports. I think Jennings comments were spot on. If you're a Packers fan, you shouldn't care much until those dates we have to play the team he signs with. Other than that, we have a plethora of interesting and fascinating story lines with our CURRENT Packers team to discuss.

It added stress and pressure through the whole off season and preseason. Had BF stayed true to his retirement, AR wouldn't have had people treating him like HE was somehow responsible for BF leaving here. It's hard enough taking over for a player that had the job for 16 years, but then to have that extra crap heaped onto you.

Personally I am looking/hoping for a pick 6 from Woodson against favre in their first meeting. Woodson knows Favre's style probably better than most and knows how to play against him. He knows Brett will throw a stinker or 2 (or 3 )in every game. Especially if he gets behind.

I'm hoping for this too, ideally in a situation where the game is close going into the final minutes and the interception just blows the game wide open (maybe after a Rodgers orchestrated go ahead drive?). I think that would frustrate Favre to no end and if he's playing for the Vikes I want to get him off his game.

edit: to tie this back into the original topic I love what Jennings said (assuming he means it). That's the attitude you have to have in a situation like this. I'm truly hoping the Packers can keep their emotions in check. That could be Favre's potential downfall in a game against us where he starts forcing things against us because he's thinking too much about sticking it to Ted and not about the game going on.

The Packers led by 7 year NFL veteran QB Brett Favre were unable to keep their emotions in check against the Seattle Seahawks at a game at Lambeau Field. in 1999. Final score- Seatle Seahawks 27 Packers 7.

The Packers were intent to show their ex head ooach Mike Holmgren, they could beat his Seahawks and could only score 7 points. against this Seahawk team This was the lowest point total score by the Packer that season. That is what can happen if a NFL team doesn't keep their emotions in check.

This victory over the Packers, made Mike Holmgren first season coaching the Seahawks, a successful one. Holmgren's team finished tie for first place in AFC- Western Division at 9-7. The Packers finshed at 8-8 in 1999. There would be no 8th winning season in a row for the Packers. In 1999 The Packers also missed being in playoffs for the first time since 1993.

One only wonders if Packers would have won that Seattle game on 11/3, 1999, if their season would have turned out differently.
