From what I've always heard about him, he has a high football IQ and he's a hard worker on and off the field. I have little doubt he'll at LEAST be very solid in the 3-4. Plus he'll have plenty of opportunities to put a hand down as well.
The media speculation earlier was, in my opinion, because they didn't understand what Kampman was doing, which was focusing and working hard on all of the new techniques and information he has to absorb for the '09 season. If he spoke to the media and said, "I'm going to kill it" he would have been blowing smoke up all of our asses, and he's not that type of person or player.
