To all of you whom I tried to call today but didn't answer, I hope you had a WONDERFUL Independence Day.
Thanks to all of you who have suited up to defend this country, but more importantly, thanks to all of you who have kept this country running while the servicemen and women were on the front lines. All the soldiers, Marines, sailors, and airmen in the world wouldn't mean a thing if we didn't have farmers, carpenters, masons, engineers, entrepreneurs, taxi drivers, cooks, mechanics, physicians, painters, lawyers, street cleaners, garbage collectors, postmen, airline pilots, custodians, computer programmers, educators, babysitters, parents, and homemakers making the United States a wonderful place to live.
Imagine . . . 233 years and counting. It's amazing. After all these years, we are still functioning under the same Constitution. In fact, we have the oldest continuous government in the world right now. Since the ratification of our Constitution, every other nation currently in existence has either been formed or fundamentally changed its form of government.
Here's to another 233 years!
