Granted this is a Chi town rag reporting it.. but...

Source of Course...

We keep hearing that Bears fifth-round draft pick Johnny Knox, who has displayed great hands to go with his world-class speed so far this offseason, could end up making more of an immediate impact than third-round pick Juaquin Iglesias, who hasnt been too shabby himself.

Not a very pleasent thought at all. If they're even decent, it'd be a huge upgrade over their current core.

What if they'd sign a FA to go with these guys? A Plaxico or Harrison? Now that would be scary. (Asuming Plax could play)

Not the kind of news I like.

In a multiple-thread related development...

I rattled around your source (the Chitown rag) and read the article about Da Bares moving up in the Vegas odds department since the acquisition of Cutler. This type of (quiet to the mass media) development is what could propel that team to make it a reality for da Bares to contend for that Super Bowl.

Since I was curious, and further since the Bares made such a dramatic leap in Vegas odds, and since (in the other thread) Florio has us at 3rd in the division (defensive change) and since I just got compared to Forrest Gump (I brought that upon myself, admittedly) and since I don't feel like posting on all the threads, I looked at the Vegas odds for the first game, as contrasted to the Super Bowl futures bet.

We were 3 point favorites, and remain so.

Life is like a box of chocolates, and nobody knows what the future holds, and it is shit like this kid that can change outcomes. He could be the piece of chocolate that you think you know what you got, but turns into something totally different. I think getting a speedster of that caliber, WITH hands, borders on cheating, especially in the (5th?) round.

Solution?

Deck his ass the first time he comes over our middle. It has cured this type of problem in the past, lol.

Oh, and a pass rush.

Don't your wives ever come in, smack you in the head and say get some shit done around this place instead of talking to imaginery people on the computer?

Maybe my wife is just mean. Anyway, carry on.

Happy 4th of July my military friends.

That actually never happens to my chocolate.

Good writing, though. There ought to be some knock on this guy, or he'd be the steal of the year. A bit like Colston in the 7th for the Saints.

NFL.com scouting report.

Negatives: Thin through the hips and legs. Gets a lot of his yardage after short routes, screens and swing passes. Lacks elite speed or quickness, but had enough to be special at the FCS level. Easily tripped up in the open field. Does not switch the ball to the outside hand. Despite his strong effort, he lacks the bulk and strength to be effective against NFL defenders. Dances and runs backward too much after the catch or on returns - will not get away with that at the next level.

I must say that a lot of these are things that can be polished out. Or at least, look like they could. The speed has apparently already been proven wrong. Especially after a 4.34 40-yard dash. Although we still have to see how he plays in pads.

Personally, I don't see it.

If it's a concern, it will most likely be a concern after this year. Even physically gifted WR's need at least a year to learn and adjust. I ain't worried though, regardless. They have to show something in an NFL game before I start to worry.

I love how NFL scouting reports sound like horse trainers' descriptions of their stock.

Anyone think of this? If they find 2 wrs that can start wouldn't that mean they move Hester back to the main returner? If he concentrates on the return game that could make a huge difference.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)
