Ok i'm so confused now because NFL network has on total access and they said that Jennings is now saying that him and the Packers are still a long ways off from a contract. He says he will go thru training camp without a contract extension but if the deal isn't done before the season starts he will not talk contract during the season.

I'm so fricken confused now.

Yesterday Jennings stated that he felt there was progress but things could still go south.. Are you sure Total Access isn't working off old quotes.. last I heard there are some details in the incentive wording before being sent off to the NFL Council... my guess is clarification on incentive with the pending CBA waffling...

lol wow i bet Jennings hopes these reports keep coming out because now the total deal is $31 million.

Jennings, who was due to make the veteran minimum in 2009, the final year of his rookie contract, has agreed to a new deal that will run through the 2012 season, according to a league source. He will earn a maximum of $31 million in the deal, should he reach the $5 million in incentives. Jennings will earn about $16 million in 2009, between his signing bonus and base salary.

Damn he will make more money than most qbs this year, I guess Ted Thompson believes he is god also.

I guess we will have to wait till it is official because as of late the media hasn't been to accurate on things.

Also Packz i think this is a replay from last night.

All I know is that when Greg shows up at 1265 to pick up that check, I want every friggin' cab in the state of Wisconsin waiting on his ass in the parking lot when he comes out.

Andrew Brandts thoughts

Jennings has long been a priority for the Packers, dating to last season. In my biased opinion, hes been the most underrated receiver in the NFL, due in part to his mild-mannered, high character ways in a position filled with selfish divas. Hes been a quiet and classy team player in Green Bay

Jennings and agent Eugene Parker waited patiently for the right deal. Earlier this spring, when I worked with Eugene on Jason Peters contract with the Eagles, Eugene kept asking if I could go up to Green Bay for a few hours and help Gregs deal get done.

I told him that Greg would get top dollar; the Packers would not let him enter his final year without a deal. They did not. More on the particulars of the deal in a future column.

Martha Careful (25-Jun) : I would have otherwise admirably served
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Also, no more provision for a write-in candidate, so Martha is off the table at least for this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : You do have to interpret the boring fine print, but all stockholders all see he is on the ballot
dfosterf (25-Jun) : It also says he is subject to another ballot in 2028. I recall nothing of this nature with Murphy
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy is on my ballot subject to me penciling him in as a no.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : I thought it used to be we voted for the whatever they called the 45, and then they voted for the seven, and then they voted for Mark Murphy
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Because I was too lazy to change my address, I haven't voted fot years until this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
Zero2Cool (25-Jun) : Maybe wicked wind chill made it worse?
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : And then he signs with Cleveland in the offseason
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : @SharpFootball WR Diontae Johnson just admitted he refused to enter a game in 41° weather last year in Baltimore because he felt “ice cold”
