I didn't mean to sound like an ass there. The big problem, though, is that he's been involved in multiple bad things since he's been on the team and he hasn't even seen that much playing time.

Not making some easy catches, idk if that means that his hands aren't as great as people think they are, or that it's a lack of concentration. Blaming one of those dropped passes on Rodgers. Being on the wrong spot in the formation, leaving us with no points instead of at least three.

Then, when you hear about the kid saying he wants to play and get into the game more, but you look at his twitter page and you see he's pretty much enjoying himself all day long while OTAs are on, it just doesn't sound believable. It's not that I don't want him to succeed, it's the opposite, and I'd hate for him to throw all that talent away because he's amusing himself with his money.

I agree with you... sounds like he needs to grow up.

He's usually on the dropping balls list from practice and I think it's because he's taking his concentration off the ball and on where he's gonna go with it before he has it.

Also you didn't talk about him calling out the coaches saying their not using him right and that he should be getting more playing time etc....

And if there is fighting going on he's usually in at least one, weather it's other teams or the Packers in practice and a couple of times he's been say to start it.

Most people seem to be defending him saying he's young and etc etc but come on middle schoolers should know not to talk trash about coaches and teammates in front of reporters and cameras.... also no fighting with teammates or costing the team yards for fighting. I'm mean yeah he's young but that comes with common sense.

I think he's too immature and cocky for his own good and yes I've read that he's doing his best to change that but that those aren't things you can change real easily because it's a mental way of thinking. People thinking and way of acting doesn't usually change easily even if they're trying very hard.....

Isn't it kind of paradoxical to say that you will let your game do your talking? I mean, if you are really going to do that, shouldn't you just keep your mouth shut about it? It's kind of like bragging about how humble you are.

Ya know, I used to criticize Sharpe for being standoffish with the media.. but in the last year or so.. piss on it, I would be the exact same freaking way. I think I would pick out one reputable press guy that I grew to trust and only speak in his direction.. piss on the rest of these piss ants that twist a story into their liking...

If I am Kampman, a leader and nothing but respected player since day one and the media types started to speculate on my thoughts and intentions.. they wouldn't get another story or quote from me.. not one peep unless the Packer FO forced me to.. seriously they could kiss my ass.

I'll tell you one thing.

When Finley ran his yap last year, we had a lot of fun with it... As in here on PackersHome.com

I think we came up with over a hundred ways to tell young Jermichael to STFU.

Personally, I enjoyed it.

This year, hell let his play do the talking.

He sounds believable, too.

Yet just when the Green Bay Packers second-year tight end seems convincing, he does something to make everyone wonder whether the immaturity that hampered him last season as a rookie has really disappeared.

Take the first organized team activity practice that was open to reporters last week. On his way back to the huddle after a play, Finley slapped rookie free-agent linebacker Cyril Obiozor upside the head after the whistle something that, in a game, surely would have drawn a 15-yard penalty.

Then theres his Twitter page. Thats right, the guy who had trouble keeping his mouth shut last season is posting on the Internet phenomenon. So far, his posts have been innocuous, and hes says hes been told by the team to watch what he writes.

On the surface, at least, it all seems to contradict his mantra for 2009:

Let your game do the talking, Finley said. Thats what I plan on doing this year.

...

Now, I was quick to call him out on his loud mouth last season, and it seems to me Finley still has some ways to go on learning to deal with his job. He is talented though so if he can mature for another year both on and off the field he could come under consideration for the #1 tight end spot next season. He just needs to knuckle down and do his work, which for the most part he seems to be doing. It does seem worrying that the Packers have to tell Finley to watch what he writes; it should be plainly obvious what can and can't be written.

Slapping a RFA linebacker in the head and owning a twitter account hardly classifies as a T.O. or Ocho Cinco moment.

Lets ease back off of athletes jock just a tad

I don't see why anybody would be hard on the guy for having a Twitter page and making himself more accessable to the fans. I mean look at some of the latest things he has put on there.

"Playing in a charity basketball game at 5 somewhere in green bay! I'll give more info later! Come out"

"I really want to help charities in Green bay out- yall gotta help me out! tell somebody!"

"got a little choked up on the halftime piece on Ariza. Man be thankful for your family."

"what up twits about to go in the backyard and soak in some of this good texas weather Peace out!"

guy really needs to watch his mouth... lol

seriously though he made a mistake last year and apologized for it and hasn't done anything but prove that a mistake is all it was since then so lets give him a break.

dfosterf (26-Jun) : I think it would be great to have someone like Tom Grossi or Andy Herman on the Board of Directors so he/they could inform us
dfosterf (26-Jun) : Fair enough, WPR. Thing is, I have been a long time advocate to at least have some inkling of the dynamics within the board.
wpr (26-Jun) : 1st world owners/stockholders problems dfosterf.
Martha Careful (25-Jun) : I would have otherwise admirably served
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Also, no more provision for a write-in candidate, so Martha is off the table at least for this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : You do have to interpret the boring fine print, but all stockholders all see he is on the ballot

dfosterf (25-Jun) : Because I was too lazy to change my address, I haven't voted fot years until this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
