Apparently the Sheriff went to my previous residence and asked the people living there if they were me. He told him I did not live there anymore than called me. I just called them and they are sending a deputy out.

I have 0 clue what this is about but I am dang nervous. The anticipation is killing me. It's probably something dumb at least I hope. How many of you actually hope I go to jail, lol?

If I disappear from the forum, you know where I will be.

The day the sheriff came to my apartment to tell me I was being evicted was one of the worst days of my life.

I hope it's something harmless, and that you don't have to go through the same kind of protracted legal battle I faced . . . only to lose in the end.

At least I'm off academic probation now. 😃

Too much partying Non?

I hope it's nothing DD80. It may be somber news. Do sheriffs track you down like that for something tragic that has happened to someone you love? Hopefully it's not that.

Best of luck to ya.

I hope and pray it's nothing serious!

I agree. I think your remark was more comical than anything else, but I don't think that anyone here wants to see anything happen to any of the members.

Anyway, I was thinking about what Wils said aswell. I hope it's all going to be ok. Update us as soon as you can and want.

Too much partying? Hardly.

Landlady freaked out when they found cockroaches on their side of the duplex. Blamed us. Took us to court when we refused to leave. The chick in the black robe heard the word "cockroaches" and acted like a adolescent girl, granting them the eviction without letting us present a defense (and we had a damn good one too).

That soured me on the legal system, you may be sure, not to mention cost me a chance to run for Student Association president because I my grades suffered that semester (the proceedings dragged on from September to late October -- damage was irreparable). Thank goodness I had a good spring semester and I'm off academic probation.

Thank goodness for GOOD landlords who took us in the same day we were evicted, even after we explained the situation to them. We've had nothing but good relations with these people since.

Damn, why did you have to say that? Now I'm really worried but my son is here with me and I've talked to my Mom so who knows.

I'm not behind on my mortgage or anything so it can't be that.

Maybe something to do with Child Support. My sons mother and I recently signed an agreement to waive support, so maybe it has to do with that.

Other than that I haven't done anything criminal that I remember at least.

Still waiting, thanks for the support guys.

He's probably trying to serve a summons. You owe anyone money? Cheating on the wife?

WTF. That is terrible. That's amazing a judge wouldn't even grant you a defense. What the hell good is a court trial without providing both sides of the story?

Best of luck dd80. I didn't mean to scare you and I'm sure your relatives are fine. That's good that you talked to them recently.

One thing I've learned over the past few years is not to gloat when I see a car pulled over on the side of the road. The driver isn't necessarily getting his comeuppance. I've been pulled over a few times for informational purposes or for my own good, not because I was doing anything wrong. While it doesn't make me like cops any better, it does make me realize they don't always have bad motives.

What I'm trying to say is there may not be anything wrong, dd80. It's possible they just want to ask you some questions in a case that has nothing to do with you. Or perhaps a background investigation is being performed on you, though unless you've recently applied for a new job, I can't imagine why.
