My guess is that one game will be shaved off their suspensions, just in time for the Packer Monday Night game. Have to keep those ratings up.

My second guess is that they were covering up the cannabis use. I don't think Pat Williams is too concerned about his physique.

Vikesrule & Formo: enjoy your 2008 division championship, no matter how tainted it was. You know what I mean: fortuitous referring, Sister Willims scandal, and the non-suspensions for that cheap shot artist with a bad mullet.

We have still won 5 out of 6 since the coaching changes and even though we got outplayed should have been 6 for 6 if the maintenance crew wouldn't have created that wind tunnel for Mason's field goal. :blackeye:

I like it when you guys are half way decent. It makes that innevitable yearly chokefest more fun to watch. Remember boys, it's all good fun. Good luck this year! I'll be down to watch the 49er game.

Now matter how you put it, it still sucks to have to say YOUR team wasn't even CLOSE to having a division championship in '08, doesn't it? All the justifications in the world ('fortuitous referring, Sister Willims scandal, and the non-suspensions') will never make up for your teams inability to win more than 7 games last year.

Still, gotta say, watching the Pack's defense this year will be interesting. I personally think there'll be a learning curve with your defense.. And AP's best game came against a 3-4 (Chargers). But, who knows. I'm hoping there's a BIG learning curve.

On topic: I've been expecting the Williams' Wall being gone for the first 4 games of this coming season, so, really, no surprise here.

in defense of the big boys, people are saying they should get 4 games for taking a diet pill. Or that they didn't get suspended yet. Us Packer fans shouldn't be saying much seeing me have a guy on felony charges which is alot worse and he hasn't been suspended yet. I know we are hoping they get suspended because it would help us have a better chance at the division title but i would perfer we win by actually winning with no excuses other than knowing that if we beat out the vikes we did it because their 2 studs on defense got suspended.

Just think of the guys like Butkus and hourning, they would have been banned from the nfl by today's rules. Hell by today's rules the NFL wouldn't have ever made it.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be ๐Ÿ™‚ (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Mike Triplett, of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, reports the New Orleans Saints likely will ask the NFL to stagger the suspensions of DE Charles Grant and DE Will Smith if their suspensions are upheld.

I wonder if the Vikes could do that also.

Well, if the Saints does this, I would like to think the Vikings will as well. But, then again, I'm sure they are waiting for the final drop of the gavel before they make any other sort of move.

Chances are, after the whole trial is done and over with, the NFL won't grant either teams' request, just in spite.

I don't think they will fight such a request based on spite.. however by allowing such a request it would be setting a bad precedence going forward of the timing of any suspensions. To my knowledge all suspension have been dealt with in the next available game window.. the only fair way to handle it so teams don't start to "pick" when suspensions are served.

I warned 'em.

I said so last year. You don't mess with the NFL and their drug policy. You don't try legal wrangling to get out of the suspensions.

Now the NFL has a hard on for the Williams' wall.

They'll really get the message when the NFL starts testing 'em hourly.
