I never served. (I grew up in the post Viet Nam downsizing of the military.) But on this Memorial Weekend I want to thank all of you who served our nation in uniform.

Why not post when you were in service and with whom.

ya - my dad served in vietnam.

Also I support our troops in iraq even thou I do not think we should be there. I appreciate the job they are doing.

I ALWAYS say thank you when i see a veteran.
If they are wearing a hat that says "WW2, Korea, Vietnam, whatever Veteran" i go out of my way to go up and thank them.
Those that have never tried this, DO it! You would be shocked at the responses i have got. The sad part is, how many of these brave men tell me NO ONE has ever done that before. Thats just wrong. They should be thanked every day!
I have had vets start crying when i thank them (especially Vietnam vets, because they got treated like crap when they got home)
More then once i have had their wives come up and thank me, saying they have waited 35 years to have someone do that.

I SO appreciate those that have fought to give ME the freedoms i have!!!

my dad served in the army for 3 years, never during war time but elevated himself to sergeant in that short time. was in charge of the old howitzers. no wonder he was half deaf. so here's to ya daddy in heaven & to all those who served & serve now. thank you for our freedom.

I called my best friend last night to thank her for her service. She didn't answer.
