TJ Rubley "Cubes" knucklehead move in 1995 might have been the absolute worst single play memory I have. I don't think I would have been as restrained as Mike was that day... I might have lost it..

But the lowest point for me overall.. Tim Lewis getting carried off the field on a stretcher.. I loved watching him play the game..

Yours?

I have 2. Reading in the paper that James Lofton is now a Raider, and Sterling Sharpe's career ending injury.

I was a big Tim Lewis fan, but James Lofton was my favorite player ever (until Favre helped win us that SB) and Sharpe was my favorite post-Lofton player. I can't say enough good stuff about Lofton or Sharpe.

Yes, that was a bad day.. however for some reason, Timmy laying their on the ground has been burned into my memory more so than Sterling..

One more, and still a great read...

LINK

Less than three weeks later, Lombardi announced he would step down as coach and become the team's general manager. In 1969 he became part-owner, executive VP and head coach of the Washington Redskins.

Sorry for not sticking to the "on the field" aspect, but this one sure had an impact on that field, for about...28 friggin' years.

I really don't know. I brought up the Rubly thingy in the other thread because I recalled reading about his screw-up in 1995.

In reality, I've been watching football for just one year and been a fan for not much more. A thing that I would've hated to see is Hornung being shipped off to the Saints in an expansion draft. Also seeing Jim Taylor being traded to the Saints a short while after that.

Maybe Foster-Dave, Cheesey or our viking friend Vikesrule remembers this?

EDIT: On the field. I should really read before I post.

I think a worst moment on the field is nearly always tied to injury's. Like you guys said, Sharpe certainly comes to mind.

I still don't like Sapp's hit on Clifton either, though.

Sapp's mouth after is what still pisses me off to this day. I have forgiven him, but not forgotten.

Driver should have been the last guy to throw the ball to. Had he thrown to Grant, we may have been in field goal range.

The other play was the overtime heave to Javon Walker in the fourth and 26th game.

In my opinion, those two plays alone keep Favre out of the top three of all time quarterback discussion.

I'm fully aware that my nuts are going to roasted to a deep shade of red for this post, but dammit when do put away the sentimental BS and call it like it really is.
