How do these guys do it? They acted stunned, surprised that and unofficial depth chart actually means anything. They then acknowledge it's going to change. But still can't get over it's not how THEY would structure the depth chart.
Every year it's the same thing and they never ever learn.

There is so much going on in camp to talk about. Who is where on a fake news depth chart is a waste of time. Actually he can talk about it but drop the "I am so surprised" routine. He spends half of his time saying why it is not a surprise after all. If he wants to give grade school kids a 101 lesson on the team fine then address it that way.

Article: The Packers depth chart's biggest shocker is that 1st round pick WR Golden isn't on the 1st string.

Beast's opinion: Bull SHIT!

1) Rookies should NEVER just be handed a starting spot, everyone should be forced to earn it.

2) We got vets and depth at the 1st string WR with Doubs, Reed and Wicks who have earned it more than Golden (so far), not saying Golden can't beat them out, but a rookie, not even the best rookie in history, should automatically be put over them, they should be forced to start behind and jump them.

3) That's not even the most shocking thing about the Packers WR depth chart... Mecole Hardman who has a total of 214 yards over the last two seasons and signed a 1 year contract for $1.5 million and only 150k signing bonus is listed ahead of the 3rd round pick WR Savion Williams is more surprising to me.

Now, Williams is supposedly a great athlete, but extremely extremely raw WR is more of an athlete than WR, but still, I thought a 3rd round pick (that's probably a lock to make the roster asked on draft status) would be listed above a return specialist (who might barely have a shot at making the roster).


4) That being said, this might be the least surprising first depth chart that I've seen in decades.

Here are my notes surprises (which are all minor at best)

WRs: Health and Hardman over 3rd round pick Williams

TE: FitzPatrick over Sims

RB: Lloyd over Brooks

DE: Van Ness over Enagbare, Enagbare was the clear starter last year.

DE/LB: Oliver isn't listed period, is he on the PUP list? Or where is he?

LB: Between Hopper, Simmons and Welch, it's Welch that's listed as the backup MLB, I just thought it would of been on of the other two.

CB Hadden is listed over Melton, Ballentine and King

Returner: Reed is the #1 punt returner but not listed on the kick returner at all.

NFL: All teams are still using 3-4 or 4-3 depth charts despite all teams running a 4-2 80+% of the time.

Again, none of which are huge. Other than I wonder about the Van Ness, Oliver, CB depth and NFL 4-2s one most.
