If you owned a franchise who would you name as general manager and head coach? Who would you want as your quarterback?

Gil Brandt, NFL.com

Hi Eric. Well, I probably would want Bill Belichick as my head coach.

I think I would want Ted Thompson of Green Bay as my general manager

and Peyton Manning as my quarterback.

One more thing.. If I had my choice, I'd also want Jerry Jones to be the owner.

Imagine what kind of team Ted Thompson and Jerry Jones would put on the field. Thompson would stock the depth with low-priced talent, and Jerry Jones would stress the salary cap with high-priced superstars. It would be interesting to watch that tug-o-war.

It would never work.. Jerry Jones steps on to many toes for the conservative Thompson.. Jerry would never allow him to do his job on his own terms.

That marriage would last less than a year...

There is a ton that I don't like about Jerry Jones.. but if I was an owner of a franchise, I would be ultra hands on ala Jones.. minus all the other pompous bull pucky..

This thread does nothing to help ease the tension of our touchy little subject. Nice work. :thumbright:

And it adds one more EXPERT opinion on that Ted is a solid GM

You know, an opinion that REALLY knows what he is talking about

It isn't much of a secret that Thompson is well respect around the league. My guess if that if he doesn't end up staying in Green Bay much longer he'll land on his feet elsewhere and probably have success.

Who the hell is Gil Brandt anyway? I'd rather listen to some of the posters here, who know how evil Ted Thompson really is.
