Christian Watson’s dad on Packers 1st-round receiver: ‘They deserve whatever they get’

Green Bay Packers receiver Christian Watson’s father, Tazim Wajid Wajed, has been...vocal on Twitter over the years for a lack of a better term. During the draft, he hosted an episode of his Hitman’s Haven Podcast, where he streamed the draft live on the website along with Watson’s brother, Tre Watson.

To say the least, they were not happy that the Green Bay Packers spent a first-round pick on the same position that their family member plays. If you want to watch their reaction to the selection, you can find it around the 2:56:00 mark in the video below.

Seems like they wanted Will Johnson at #23. It's understandable to see where the anger comes from: Watson tears an ACL in a non-meaningful game on the last day of the regular season, could potentially miss out on millions in FA when his contract runs out next year and then GB drafts a new guy who looks to immediately take over Watsons role on offense. Not only has Wajed been vocal for his son Watson, but he often defends other young guys on the team as well from the usual crowd of critics.

It's funny. Watson won't be available for most of the season. He won't be 100 % until next year but the Packers better not try to fill the position.
Can you imagine what it will be like if Watson's on the left side and Green on the right? It's a cover nightmare.

Put Reed in the slot and feed.

As I told Mr. Watson on Tweeter, this WR room has just a bare cupboard beyond 2025. You have to restock and reload. If we can get Christian Watson, Matthew Golden (not Green 😜) and Jayden Reed on the same field with Tucker Kraft and Josh Jacobs? That's lethal stuff right there. Yes, I left out Romeo Doubs because I really believe he's being traded or will not be here in 2026.

Mr. Watson also likes to ridicule the fan base. He's worn himself out with me.

Hey, and healthy Watson and Golden could help each other be deep ball heaven...

I believe WR James Jones was at an official Packers Draft and then the team drafted Jordy Nelson and Jones reaction wasn't nessarily positive. But I think it's fair to say it worked out for both of them.

My big concern is the linemen, Packers almost went 0-6 in the division because of the linemen getting beat in division games... and seems between FA and draft, we're getting further behind in linemen talent in the division.

I believe Zero2Cool's response is perfect.

Whether it is youth league, high school, college or pro, parents should keep their mouths shut. I believe not having an opinionated parent making life tough is one of the reasons Shadeur Sanders has not been drafted. No one wants 'prime time' opining on how they coach or use their son.

While it's nice to see him so supportive of the team as a whole, he goes a bit overboard at times.
