While listening to LaFleur, I think it was actually Jordan Love who messed up and LaFleur took fault. Basically, he gave Love free reign and Love went with one play, then changed it. LaFleur said something about he himself hesitated and should have just made a decision, and sent in the call.

I agree, I think LaFleur does that, tries to keep the blame off of the QB. I think he did that in his first game against the Chiefs too.

Chiefs went cover 0 and gave Love a pop quiz on if he knew his hot routes when given all out pressures and he didn't (which LaMar Jackson failed that same pop quiz that year form the Bengals and worst, teams kept doing it, and they struggled to get answers).

LaFleur took the blame for not expecting that, which you always need to plan for that with a new QB, as it's not something you normally see, so it can totally catch them off guard. But also Love being here a number of years should of had better answers than he did.

In this case, I think LaFleur threw in two plays (which is common) but Love sort of determining what he wanted and what he liked and then what adjustments he needed to make, also took too long.

I think both could of done a better job, LaFleur just sending in a single play to speed things up, and quicker adjustments from Love, quicker decisions from both.

Hey, my college roommate was "Mike from Geneva, IL." I seriously doubt it's the same guy but you never know. I don't recall him watching any NFL games but it was 1976 and we were in the middle nowhere. Before the tv package that we have today, the only games we may have had on the tv were the football St Louis Cardinals games.

As for MLF taking the blame, I am sure he did.
