He expects Green Bay to drop two games to divisional teams on the road to end the 2024 regular season

In a recent interview with ESPN Milwaukee, ESPN’s Adam Schefter said the expectation is that the Green Bay Packers  will finish with a 12-5 record in the 2024 regular season, based on who remains on their schedule. For context, a 12-5 record would have been good enough for the top Wild Card spot in the NFC in both 2021 and 2023 and would have been tied for the top spot in 2022, the three seasons that we’ve seen a 17-game format with expanded playoffs in the NFL.

8 games left in the season, @AdamSchefter  thinks the #Packers  should go 6-2. @JenGabeChewy  | #GoPackGo  pic.twitter.com/9NnogFgsE4
— ESPN Milwaukee (@ESPNMilwaukee) November 13, 2024

According to Tankathon , the Packers’ remaining strength of schedule is the 12th-hardest in the league, but it’s also the easiest remaining out of the four NFC North teams. The toughest schedule to end the 2024 season? That goes to the Chicago Bears , who still have to play the Packers twice, the Detroit Lions  twice, the Minnesota Vikings  twice, the San Francisco 49ers  and the Seattle Seahawks . The difference between their remaining opponent’s winning percentage (70.8 percent) and the second-ranked team (Cleveland, 59.2 percent) is roughly the difference between the second-ranked team and the 24th-ranked team (Washington, 47.7 percent). Oof.

So while the Packers don’t exactly have a cakewalk in front of them, it sure isn’t the Bears’ schedule, either. Schefter didn’t give a whole lot of analysis to ESPN Milwaukee, aside from stating the Packers “should win that game” on projected wins or stating “tough game” on projected losses, but here’s how Schefter bucketed Green Bay’s remaining games:

Predicted Wins
Week 11: @ Chicago
Week 12: vs San Francisco
Week 13: vs Miami
Week 15: @ Seattle
Week 16: vs. New Orleans
Week 18: vs. Chicago

Predicted Losses
Week 14: @ Detroit
Week 17: @ Minnesota

Ultimately, the worldwide leader’s insider said the Packers “shouldn’t have more than two losses on their schedule” and “there’s no reason for this team to not go 6-2” to end the season. A 12-5 record probably isn’t going to be enough to make up the distance between the NFC North-leading Lions, who currently sit with an 8-1 record, but surviving the regular season after two Jordan Love injuries and still punching in a playoff ticket is probably a deal Green Bay fans would take at this point.

12 wins is pretty solid but I think they can and will take Minneysoda in the dumpty dome.

Win Week 11: @ Chicago yes we won that but only because the Bears coaching sucks lol
Loss Week 12: vs San Francisco We lose this as they have way to many weapons and our offense is so far off, we win with Willis at QB the team seems to respond better for him
Win Week 13: vs Miami I say we get this win just because hopefully it is cold and we know they hate the cold
Loss Week 15: @ Seattle Ya we can't win in Seattle and they are actually starting to play good ball
Win Week 16: vs. New Orleans Im going to say we get the win but its hard to tell what Saints team is going to show up
Win Week 18: vs. Chicago It's the Bears enough said lol

Predicted Losses
Loss Week 14: @ Detroit We are Detroits Chicago to us, Matt Reminds me of the fonz in waterboy when he is scared of the other couch, like Campbell stole his playbook lol
Loss Week 17: @ Minnesota We seem to struggle in Minnesota just like in Detroit and every year we seem to split, but it should be a big game and I think their offense is just that much better than ours and I think they would be pumped to help Jones keep the Packers out of the playoffs if possible.

So I see us finishing the year at 10 and 7 which should still get us into the playoffs, we have a 2 game lead over the NFC west basically lol as the Rams, Seahawks and 49ers are all at 5-5. Now we play both the 49ers and Seahawks which could be huge games and we have the tiebreaker over the Rams already. So let's see how it all shakes out I believe I called 9-8 or 8-9 at the beginning of the year.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Also, about struggling in Minnesota. Looks like we won three of the last five. That surprised me because like you, I figured we struggled much more than that. I was thinking it'd be 1 of 5. 🤷🤷‍♂️

Zero2Cool (9h) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (9h) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (11h) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (12h) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (13h) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (13h) : Thank you
wpr (13h) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (13h) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (13h) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (13h) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (13h) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (14h) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (14h) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (14h) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (14h) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (14h) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21-Jan) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Ben going to Bears. He'll be out in 3 years.
Mucky Tundra (20-Jan) : what's so funny?
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Bears are finalizing a deal to hire Ben Johnson as their head coach. (via @tompelissero )
Mucky Tundra (20-Jan) : Looks like Lions OC Ben Johnson is going to be the Bears coach
