Uh, dude, signing Willis wasn't for the short term. It was a move for the next year, two maybe even three.

The time to solve the backup quarterback problem was in March and April, not late August.

In March Willis would have cost more than a 7th round pick. Jordan is the QB. How many games did they need to have the backup start in the past couple of years? If you said "None" then you are overreacting. If Jordan is injured mid game odds of winning are going to be low no matter who the back u is even if they signed Tannehill.
As mentioned, none of the other 31 NFL teams feel that he is worthy of being a backup. But, hey he's available so the Packers are the stupid ones for not signing him.

Yeah this reads to me as someone who has an issue because their prediction or preconceived thought turned out wrong...

I mean suggesting signing Ryan Tanahill when no team has currently signed him, and just because it wouldn't give up a 7th round pick?

It would probably cost more than a 7th round pick in cap space cash difference in pay... as you can't sign a vet QB for rookie contract amounts.

And if Willis is a decent backup... IF... then that's worth more than a 7th, heck Packers have used a 5th, 7th and now another 7th trying to find a decent backup.

I don't know about others, but I'm much upset about the wasted 5th on Clifford and the wasted 6th on Carlson whom the fans almost immediately and correctly said were very questionable or bad picks from the start.

Than any 7th round pick...

Also more concerned with their questionable OL drafting decisions, like Meyers in the 2nd, Rhyan in the 3rd and Newman in the 4th, over other OL whom seemed better

The guy just got here and we're supposed to have him suit up as the only backup QB against a team we hope to be fighting for home field advantage for? Seems more like team gave two guys a full chance, it didn't work out so they pivoted. I don't see the issue.
