These hot takes get so boring. It shows that the writers are not clever at all. they are throwing stuff on the wall to see if any of it sticks without bothering to think.
The Packers have carefully crafted a team with good chemistry. They are young (inexpensive) and on the upswing. Lamb is an established veteran. He's got talent there is no doubt. Still why would they want to give up three players AND have to pay Lamb $30 million as well?
Keep in mind the Cowboys are in a bind right now. They have -$24 million in total cap space, a +$9 million when looking at their top 51. GB is at -$11 million and +$21 million respectively. The Cowboys need to extend both Lamb and Prescott with almost no room to do so. Taking Lamb off their hands makes the job so much easier for them to give Dak the big money he is looking for. Watson's contract doesn't have to be done until next year and no matter how good of a season he has, he won't get $30 million. The other two players who will be drafted next year won't have to worry about for 4 years. They them twist in the wind.
If I was trading for Lamb and giving Watson in return and paying $30 million a year I don't see him worth more than a 3rd. That's two players for one and we solve your cap problem to boot. Even then Lamb might be a locker room problem in two years.
