“Someone is about to get a great football player that’s been badly misused,” said Campbell on social media.

Based on his recent activity on social media, it appears that former Green Bay Packers  linebacker De’Vondre Campbell is holding some animosity toward the organization after being released from his five-year, $50 million contract this offseason. Earlier this week, he posted, “Someone is about to get a great football player that’s been badly misused. O well let’s get it though,” to his Instagram page.

via Campbell’s Instagram page

As The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman noted on Twitter/X , Campbell had previously praised the Packers’ defensive coaching staff for allowing him to play a singular role in the team’s defense following his First-Team All-Pro season in 2021. After that year, his first with the Packers, he signed his long-term extension with the team.

The following is what Campbell had to say at the time, via Schneidman:

I was like, the only way I will come is if you let me do this and only this. I don’t want play SAM, MIKE and WILL ... I had one job responsibility here that allowed me to excel week-in and week-out rather than going into a game plan where you’re playing three or four different positions

A visit down the road of Campbell’s likes on Twitter/X also shows the following post, which claims that the Packers are “the worst team on how they treat the player’s on their way out”:

This isn’t the first time that Campbell has made noise on social media, as claimed that he was no longer going to play through injuries for the Packers during the 2023 regular season :

Not going out my way anymore and I’m not playing through injuries anymore cause when s*** goes wrong they always use it against you. I’m treating everyone accordingly and giving them the same energy they giving me. Focus on yourself and your mental 59 you owe it to yourself

Following that incident, Campbell claimed that he was “not talking about nothing that happened on the internet ” and never addressed those comments any further. In Weeks 16 and 17, the two weeks after Campbell’s statement, he was an inactive in two consecutive Packers wins. When he returned to the lineup in Week 17 and the playoffs, he was used as a rotational player who often played passing downs opposite of Quay Walker while Isaiah McDuffie was used as a run downs linebacker — a role that defensive coordinator Joe Barry, who coached Campbell during his entire Packers career, had previously not deployed during his time in Green Bay.

So don’t expect Campbell to come around Dairyland very much in his post-Packers career, as he seems to hold a good amount of frustration about how his time in Green Bay ended. Campbell has signed with his fourth team in his NFL career this offseason, joining the San Francisco 49ers  on a one-year contract.

And then to give someone else $12 million per year and not him... while only offerings him, $4 million base with the potential to earn $2 million more. He should be mad.

Of course, what Jones ended up signing was $6 million base and potential to earn $1 million more, so Packers were a lot closer to Jones's market than I realized. I'm surprised he didn't get $9 million.

As far as Campbell, I don't understand how he was misused, I understand he wants to be just the Mike (MLB) LB and he was in 2021... did that change in 2022 and 2023? Or how was he misused?

I know the Falcons used him as the coverage LB, which he can do, but his strength is the MLB, which now more of the LBers are out of FA and the draft doesn't have a lot of top talented MLB. So I'm guessing it's McDuffie's to lose now.

Aaron Jones could very well be upset with the Packers. It's one of those situations where I understand why the team did what they did. I can also understand the view from Jones too. Personally, I think they should have cranked up the incentives for Jones on his offer.

But as this is about Campbell. He's been vocal here and his last stop. It reminds me of Zadarius a bit.

I wonder if the Packers would of agreed to the deal Jones signed.... both without the new RB, and also with the new RB.

Sick of Jones always being hurt. A year too early.

I heard a podcaster say that he finds it interesting the fan base complains the organization doesn't treat the players fair when it's a favorite who is released but nothing is wrong when a player that they have been screaming to get rid of for a couple of years is finally sent packing.

That 21 Tweet tirade says a lot more about Campbell than the Packers. We should remember he said the same thing about the Falcons. He came to Green Bay saying it's nice to be on a team that knows how to use him. Saying all of his great plays were him deviating from the scheme? Saying any bad grade was someone else's fault? After all that then complaining the Packers didn't even ask him to take pay cut? Seriously? What an odd dude. Especially after his tirade about not playing while hurt anymore. Yeah, that's the kind of person you want on your roster.

Zero2Cool (14h) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (15h) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you

wpr (22-Jan) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21-Jan) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Ben going to Bears. He'll be out in 3 years.
