This is a development year for this team so expectations should be low. The offense has been a great surprise with Love and the WRs coming along much quicker than expected but the D continues to relapse in some areas despite the large draft investment.
If you have a dinner that has a nice steak on one side and mashed potatoes with a cat turd on the other, I anticipate your focus will be mostly on the potatotes.

Yes, the offense has been a crazy positive surprise. Remember in training camp the defense was kicking their ass and forcing offense to do up downs?
The defense wasn't the problem most of the season. The offenses consistency was. How they do so well vs Lions and Chiefs back to back. And then the last three games?? It's like the DC wants to be unemployed. I can see ONE of the those type games happening, sure. But three in a row?? It's definitely a WTF thing.
But I'm just more pleased with the offense improvements than pissed at defense failures. I'm probably too optimistic for the new DC in 2024 haha. I'll probably have another turd in my new dinner mashed potatoes!!
