It is a long way before we can make any real proclamations about Kraft but it has been nice to watch his succeed the past couple of games. If he can only keep that up he will have a rather nice career.

Based on PFF grades, Kraft has struggled all year in the passing game until last week. He had two very slightly above average games in run blocking against the Broncos and Rams.

Kraft was basically forced into the Lewis blocking role after it was clear Dugara wasn't working. Kraft was wasn't working well in that role either at first.

But I was so happy they selected Kraft, as he potential could be an all around TE type and I was hoping he could break the Packers 3rd round curse (or whatever you want to call it... 2010 S Morgan Burnett might be the Packers clearly successful 3rd round selection).

But much of the Packers other non-linemen 3rd round selection felt like tweeners and and Gute's selection have felt like reaches.

2015: WR/RB Ty Montgomery (STer for Patriots)
2016: LB/S Fackrell (tweener role in college)
2017: DT Montravius Adams (not a tweener)
Gute started
2018: LB/S Burks (30% of 49ers defense snaps)
2019: TE/WR Sternberger (used as a slot WR in college)
2020: TE/FB Dugara (maybe more weak FB)
2021: WR/RB Rodgers (Does neither well)
2022: OG Rhyan (LT in college, got picked before Tom)

TE Kraft is a clear TE, no tweener there at all.
