I believe that's back to back weeks now that WR Wicks has dropped a TD and the Packers have had to settle for a FG.
I believe he lead the NCAA in dropped percentage one of his last two years, which is why I thought he would be off the Packers draft board.
All that's fine and good, but the coaches doing coach speak that they can coach it out of him (and maybe they can) but lots of coaches have made claims like that and usually turn out false. If you're going to draft a receiver, make sure they can catch, thank you.
Also, it doesn't help that the next WR taken after Wicks was Rams WR Puka Nacua, whom is setting records, with 25 catches in his first two games, both of which over 115 yards in both games.
That's one thing I loved about Ted Thompson receivers, you absolutely knew they would be able to catch, and even they went through their periods of drops, especially in their first two years, but they have a great college track record and improved in the pros. Now, Thompson choices didn't have speed, and I like that Gute factors that in, but maybe some sort of compromise that factors in both?
Note, the guys I would of drafted instead are sitting on other teams benches, so not suggesting I could do better, but need to make the catches when they come your way.
I know this is a young team and young teams are mistake prone and expected that this year, but this, team wide, is almost too many mistakes putting themselves into too many holes.
