So who do you think will be inactive on Sunday?

Watson WR
Jones OT
Wilson RB
Anderson S
Are easier ones.
Need 1 more.
Cox EDGE possible. I don't think they need 6 even if Gary is on a snap count.
Ben Sims TE? That would make them short at TE. Kraft has struggled in RC and Deguara is Deguara. But Sims has not been on the team very long.
Brooks DE They don't need 5 DL.
Longer shot would be to cut back on the OL. Another T like Walker or G Rhyan.

I think they will go with Sims as #5 and then Rhyan as well bringing up DuBose.

So usually teams only have 8 (3 backups), and Runyan is listed as the backup Center and Tom is the swing guy. So I figure they have Nijman, Walker and either Newman or Rhyan with the other one inactive.

Also, don't forget the Packers act elevate two guys off the PS, and the PS has a ton of STs.

So my guess...

Watson WR
Jones OT
Rhyan OG (or Newman OG)
Wilson RB
Sims TE

If they elevate some PS guys, then maybe
OLB Cox
S Anderson

But I thought I read Anderson was a pretty good STer, and Cox has looked better than expected on STs for a rookie that wasn't expected to have much speed. And a lot of STers on the PS.

Vikings offense is similar to ours. Sims might be sufficiently up to speed. I like his Musgrave-like skill set.

And if he actually had Musgrave's skillet he wouldn't of been released as an extremely cheap rookie. A 40 time doesn't make a skill set. And his college film, that 40 times doesn't show up much.

Draft Projection
Priority free agent

Overview
Tight end with average size and talent as a run blocker but the tools to get a little better in that area. Baylor frequently used Sims as a wingback who was asked to base block, lead block and get into space on outside zone. As a pass-catcher, he lacks separation talent and is going to get what is given to him by the defense. Sims’ average traits mean he will likely need to be in a favorable situation to make a roster.

Strengths
Counted on to block in Baylor run game.

Patient fitting up into centered positioning as a run blocker.

Size, tools and willingness to become a more consistent blocker with work.

Confident hands-catcher.

Works the middle of the field and catches through contact.

Can deliver a heavy blow to tacklers during run after catch.

Weaknesses
Slow to stop and settle into catch-ready positioning as a receiver.

Not much separation quickness and will wear man coverage.

Frequently late getting off the snap.

Brings helmet before hands as run blocker.

Needs to bring feet under him to prevent falling off the block.

Newman positive plays are better than Rhyan, but Newman's negative plays are worse than Rhyan (mainly due bad mental errors which draw flags).

Physical Newman can absolutely play in the NFL... but something happened to the guy mentally. This is purely wild guessing, but his play seems like he doesn't trust his abilities anymore and he's mentally psyching himself out, which then he makes errors. I don't know how to fix that, other than force him to have success. Which I don't know how to do other than lining him up against guys you know he can beat.

Also, something else I don't fully understand, Rhyan was having success basically against everyone in the pass rush drills in practice. But that absolutely did not translate to the preseason games... I'm wondering why.
