Packers tight end Tyler Davis suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in Green Bay's preseason opener Friday night against the Bengals, a source confirmed to ESPN.

Yeah, I'm thinking this might of just guaranteed an extra ILB or S for his ST snaps. He played 80.8% of the ST snaps. Only four players were over 47% of the ST snaps last year. TE Davis, S Leavitt, ILB McDuffie and CB Nixon were the leaders of ST snaps.

Not many were interested in signing him last year... and Raiders have already signed and released him this year. Sure he might sign, but not sure he makes the 53 man roster.

TE Maxx Williams is also out there and has been a decent blocker. Also his grandfather was drafted by the Bears and he said No thanks, I'm going into medical field instead.

Last year the Giants tried to convert WR Andre Miller to TE, if the Packers need bodies, they might ask him to practice there some.
