We heard lot of rumblings that Aaron Rodgers wasn't happy continuing his career in Green Bay during the 2022 off-season.
We heard Rodgers joke that "I hope he doesn’t go anywhere. Unless I do.” regarding Nathaniel Hackett.
The Denver Broncos had the ammunition to do a trade. Did the Packers refuse to be the team that trades a back-to-back NFL MVP? And in turn offered a insanely stupid contract that Aaron Rodgers couldn't turn down?
So, what happened?

Mark Murphy got involved and told them to get the Rodgers new contract done. (My speculation, they didn't trust Love enough yet, and Rodgers back to back MVP).

But in different articles, it sounded like before Murphy involvement, it sounded like before Rodgers had a say, and was strongly considering Denver, especially since his then fiance either loved there, or I think moved there. But that didn't work out...
Also, Aaron Rodgers supposedly wanted to be on one team his entire career. I forget whom, but I think there was a great athlete, when he was growing up, and I guess he sorta looked down on their career a bit because it ended up not being just on one team. Which made me think Joe Montana, as he was a 49ers fan. But I'm thinking the article mentioned a Non-Football athlete as an example.
And in a recent article, I believe with Peter King? I believe Rodgers explained his 2023 process as, first he's going to decide weather the Packers want him back or not. Then he's going to decide if he wants to keep playing or not.
If that's correct, and the same process that was in place in 2022, then he just let the Packers decide if you want him here or not.
Though, at some point, it was rumored (and Rodgers never denied) that his agent demanded Gute to be fired to Murphy. Rodgers just said you have to ask the agent about that.
