About a year ago today marked the beginning of an onslaught of reports that hailed fourth-round rookie Romeo Doubs as a potential X-factor in the wake of Davante Adams’ departure. Every day it was a new contested catch, one-on-one victory, or quote from Aaron Rodgers that kept his hype train going all through training camp and into the season. A receiver out of Nevada, Doubs fell to Day 3 due to his unspectacular measurables. However, he was spectacular in college, stringing together back-to-back 1,000-plus-yard and touchdown-per-game seasons in that span. At 6’2” with a 4.47 40 time, his name was called well behind freak-of-nature Christian Watson (6’5”, 4.36), whom Green Bay selected two rounds earlier.

Disappointingly, yet somewhat predictably, Doubs failed to emerge as the reliable target and fantasy football menace that some had hoped. Rodgers’ surgical approach to running an offense, from hard counts to telepathic audibles, proved difficult for the rookies to keep up with. This was one of a handful of factors that led to an underwhelming season, one defined by offensive miscues. Sometimes it was drops and sometimes it was missed assignments. Regardless, Doubs failed to generate any sort of rhythm. He had flash plays, perhaps most significantly an acrobatic 19-yard touchdown reception in Buffalo. However, his rookie season could fairly be categorized as a mess, and it culminated in a zero-catch showing in the do-or-die Week 18 matchup at Lambeau Field.

I think I am overhyping Jayden Reed beacuse I think he's gonna push for a lot of snaps. I think Watson is gonna be the clear WR1, but WR2 snaps I think will be split between Doubs and Reed. And I think my point is useless beacuse as I type this, I suspect they will go three WR formations a lot. Hi.

I think Watson is going to be the huge playmaker, but I believe Doubs will be the clear #2 as he has got a year of experience, Alexander has talked about how Doubs has improved including beating himself (Alexander) this year already when he couldn't do it at all last year.

Also it sounds like Love has the best chemistry with Doubs, of any body. Now Doubs is no where near Adams complete growth level, but I think the Packers will use Doubs similar to Adams and Watson similar to MVS, but of course in this comparison a more equally split passes, as in this comparison the deep ball guy is the better player, where Adams was the better player.

But also remember, fans where demanding Adams be released in his 2nf year, as he dealt with an ankle injury and kept fighting on the field despite clearly not being, 90%, maybe not 80%.

You could be right though that Romeo Doubs will be clear WR2. I wouldn't be shocked about it at all.

There seems to be so much potential with our WRs. I can't wait for the season to start to see what we really have!

They would have had great rookie sesons if they were not injured. Hopefully they can play all 16.

Did anyone really forget about Doubs? Most roster breakdowns I've read this offseason see Doubs as a lock at #2 WR and is a given he'll make a jump this year.
