How fun it is to reflect on the comments made in PFT this morning about Raji admitting to his past marijuana use, and Florio pouncing upon that admission.

I find it hilarious that while the Packer fan comments could not convince the Viking fan commentators that there is a difference between admitting to past pot use and testing positive at the combine for pot...

There is a good possibility that Percy Harvin himself has just done wonders in explaining the difference.

Our friends at the PPO are engaging in this very discussion currently.. interesting reading and listening to the debate.

I'm betting on the incompetence of the fo over some sort of unexcused absence...probably the exam excuse or something, but I can always hope for the alternatives.

His thc count at the combine was probably higher than any academic grade achieved in college.

This is probably a non-issue. School is still in session, for godsake. The media will seize upon ANYTHING for a lame story.

I know, but it speaks to either the Viking PR departments lack of attention or to Harvin himself.

Their is no way, with a kid with question marks surrounding him, that a statement wasn't release prior to the rookie camp in explanation. Now they have over reaction and it becomes a story.

EXACTLY

Remember, this is the team that took the time and the trouble (THIS year, not some past year) to let all of us know that they had rejected over 70-some football players as potential draft picks for things like character-issues, and then drafted someone that tested positive for pot at the combine. Rejected as in not even going to have them on their big-board.

hmmm

You guys raise valid points. They should have announced that he would be missing some days with an excused absence.

Unless, of course, the absence truly isn't excused. I wonder what kind of contract hit he'd take for that.

No contract hit. No contract yet. Voluntary. Rare to miss for a rookie, including those in school. It's a duration-thing, as in short.
