Seeing a lot on Tweeter with "experts" saying this kid has year one starting potential.

My guess, is that the "experts" with teams either
1) Don't believe that
2) Noticed.some red flags on him
3) Both #1 and #2

Otherwise, I don't know why he would of dropped to the 7th round....

Unless the Twitter experts are just saying, the other Safeties the Packers have are such crap that any 5th round talent that got drafted in the 7th round could be a starter.

I think Savage and Ford start as starters whole.the rest try to learn the system.

Though, I certainly thought Johnson would be in the low 4th to high 6th range. But I'm certainly not expert and teams held off Safety a lot more than I thought, and a kicker went before most of them (which 49ers claim teams were trying to trade up to take their kicker in the 3rd round before them 😂... I just can't help but think whomever started that rumor is laughing their butts off because it's false... maybe it was true, but I seriously doubt it).

Starting Safety means one of 64 and taking the starting position over say the 58th Safety in the NFL isn't really a big thing. Then again, starting safety just means first snap on defense so we can really dive deep into the semantics of it all.

OR

Maybe the kid has the TALENT, but lacks the motivation, lacks the drive to maximize said talent? I know with my own personal experience all through school I was told how much potential I had. I would argue that saying look at my report card, I'm an idiot, go spend time with someone worth the attention lol

This is especially true if you throw a mobile blocker in there, which is why Kyle Shanahan loves using a FB, it changes which hole defenders are supposed to fill.

And I'm there with you, lots of potential, but struggled to focus and time management and make the correct priorities. Of course, I moved states and went from a school with about 1,000+ students per grade to one of about 250 per grade (major culture shock) ... and my grades improved a lot. I was not used to everyone knowing everyone lol 🤣 and at times they struggled understanding how I didn't know someone lol

dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
Zero2Cool (25-Jun) : Maybe wicked wind chill made it worse?
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : And then he signs with Cleveland in the offseason
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : @SharpFootball WR Diontae Johnson just admitted he refused to enter a game in 41° weather last year in Baltimore because he felt “ice cold”
Zero2Cool (24-Jun) : Yawn. Rodgers says he is "pretty sure" this be final season.
