The new contract money is a reasonable compromise. Long term Jordan gets a little more money.
(Note to Zero - last week I used the term "Shekel". You said you didn't know what it was. That's the Israel "dollar ".)

Anyway, Jordan gets a few million more next year. Packers work it so they get a little cap relief this year. This allows them 2 years to work on a long term deal.

2023 Base Salary 1.01mil, (down from

2023 escalators( up to 9mil)which would be added to his 2024 Base salary

2024 salary 5.5mil(fully guaranteed)
2024 workout bonus $500k

Looks like Packers can save just shy of 2mil on this years salary cap.
That is if they push the whole signing bonus to 2024.
Things go well I would expect them to do another extension a year from now.

It's a good business move by the Packers, but a potentially great business move by Jordan Love. He could make bank in 2024 with back-to-back good seasons. In fact, if he plays like Rodgers did in 2008, I suspect Love would get a long-term extension pretty quickly into 2024.
