"Packers and Jordan Love have agreed on a one-year contract extension worth up to $22.5 million, including $13.5 million fully guaranteed, per source."

Just like I fucking said. My brilliance is unmatched!

Anyhow, obnoxious douche nozzle comment aside, only $13.5m is guaranteed so the Packers actually could save ~$7m if they cut his ass. Super unlikely, but hey, who knows.

I thought they would be actually looking for a multi-year deal - is this the equivalent of a "prove it" deal w/ a free agent?

Anna Love hasn't missed a game since he was a red-shirt freshman in college. She should call him up and remind him that mother's day is imminent. I believe he just picked up a check from 1265 Lombardi Ave for a cool 13.5 million bucks.

I haven't verified this, but a few players spoke about it. Most recently Pat McAfee who had to bring in the newspaper to the bank to prove he signed such a contract.

In reality, I thought I read that the signing bonus is usually spread over 12 to 18 months. I was just having a bit of fun with it, mostly to indicate that the guarantee is probably a signing bonus and not an in season split weekly paycheck. In any event, chances are pretty good he has a very good relationship with whatever bank manager he would go and talk to if the need arose. 😀

I got more, lol
Maybe Pat McAfee opted to show the bank manager the newspaper article instead of the actual contract because... in the words of the baritone singer on the bus... " I have a structured settlement, but I need cash now!"

Chorus: "Call J.G. Wentworth, cause I need cash now!"

I apologize if this made anyone hum the song, lol

A different way to get the same results if they extend J.Love next year.
2023 Cap hit was 4.2mil before the extension. .
Looks like they are going to save 2mil+ on this years cap.

dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
