In all seriousness how are you guys feeling? Excited, anxious, disappointed?

Personally, I'm excited to see what Jordan can do. I figure he'll have a somewhat rough first year, as most QBs do, so I'm even more excited to see if he improves in year 2.

I'm part excited, part anxious. I think a lot of people in the national media are selling Love short and think GB made a hasty decision based on the sample size vs Philly last year. I think a lot of people missed that the Eagles were still running their normal D and didn't go prevent.

I'm also going to be extremely annoyed if GB takes a WR at #13 this year (or in the next 2-3 years) and hearing the endless headlines about how they never did that for Rodgers, Gutekunst is trying to stick it to Rodgers after he's gone etc or some other nonsense like that.

Vikes fans here in Minneapolis think their long nightmare is over.

Pretty sure it's not.

Earthquake thoughtfully asked:

In all seriousness how are you guys feeling? Excited, anxious, disappointed?

1.  I feel like I used to feel teaching when one of my favorite students graduated.  I'd feel happy for them, I was glad I had the opportunity to watch them grow, but I would still miss them.   I am feeling the same thing about Rodgers.  We were all blessed to have him.  For many many years, he elevated this team well about the talent level he had to work with.  As I said in another thread, I hope he win the SB there (and plays 65% of the plays.)

2.  I feel eager to see what Love can do.   We (talking to myself here...I) have to have reasonable expectations however.  Rodgers went 6-10 IIRC his first year.   He is physically a tremendous talent.  The question is his CPU and heart.   I think he has 'it'...but we will see.

3. I think players will blossom without Rodgers sucking all the air out of the room.   He WAS always the story.  I think guys will be able to step up from a public persona perspective, and it will be interesting to see who leads.

4.  For the coaching staff, there is not more "Rodgers changed the play"...or...."Rodgers wanted a hybrid system".  Let's see how good you are with these groceries...your jobs depend on it.
Go Packers!!!!

I think Jordan Love is going to be boom or bust. Meaning he's going to be productive top 10 QB in 2-3 starting seasons or he'll be on a different team.

I'm looking forward to seeing what 10 can do. A bit nervous for him. He has a lot of pressure on his shoulders. I'm hopeful he passes for 300 and runs for 50 yards against the bares. Scores a TD, spikes the ball and looks at the bares fans and laughs.

On the Rodgers side, I appreciate all he has done for the organization. It's been more than we could have asked for. I think I was one of the few that loved the draft pick. I was glad when he took over for "Grandpa". I thought the time was right. Once again as Kevin Greene said, "it is time".

I think Love will be fine. Yes, there will be growing pains, just as there are for any new starting QB.  The good thing is, it won't be a that bad of a schedule he will be going against, as the Packers were not that good last year at 8-9. When AR was the new QB, he had a tough group of teams to go up against his first season as a starter.

My new name for the 2023 Green Bay Packers......"The LOVE BOAT"!!!😁

I'm still irritated that we didn't dump Rodgers last year, after two consecutive 13-3 campaigns, when we probably could have gotten a first-round pick for him instead of having to swap first-rounders to get rid of him. I'm also feeling a little vindicated, because I always thought people who were hoping for a pair of first-round picks were wildly overestimating Rodgers' value.

I think I was the only person in the chat room cheering when they drafted Jordan Love, so I'm looking forward to seeing what the young sprout can accomplish.
