Dolphins. Raiders at 12. Lions.  Some say Love might not make it to 12.

Why is this relevant? It's really not, except to those who claim Jordan Love was a reach at 26 was never considered a round one pick.

Just my personal opinion before 2020 Draft Day, I thought he'd take 3 years to develop and become of that he would not be taken in the first half of the draft.

I thought teams were going to pass on him, and then Patriots would stay put at #23, develop him and laugh their way as they had another above average starting QB.

If memory serves me well, rumor had it the Colts were very interested in QB Love was were trying to trade up from #34 to get back end of round 1 to get the 5th year option for Love. That was the rumor on draft day.

My understanding after the draft, it was said the Colts were trying to trade up into the first, but not for QB Love.

But whom knows, rumors could be real or totally false. But the announcers over push the QB stories, but that's in general, they should talk more about other positions.

But QB Hurts was taken after Love and Hurts helped his team to the Super Bowl. Going to be hard for Love to live up to that.

I think the reach argument comes into play due to the fact that Love wasnt selected in the top 15 and the remaining teams would not be choosing him for their first round pick(as they didnt need a QB) so he would most likely been a 2nd round pick on draft day. Thats why a lot of people called it a reach because most believe he would be there in the next round. Also, we traded up to grab him at 26 which is 100000% a reach and dumb to do. He was goingto be there for us regardless....

I get the argument that he possibly could have been there at 30, but the Packer's second-round pick was 62, and it seems very unlikely he would have been there. In this scenario, maybe the Patriots take him at 37, or the Eagles at 52 instead of Hurts, or any number of other teams. There are benefits to taking a QB in the first round as well, specifically the 5th year option which will be very useful to the Packers.

If Love ends up being an average starter, using picks #30 and #136 will have been a good move. If he ends up being the Packer's franchise QB for the next 10 years, it will have been an absolute bargain. Keep in mind that the going rate for a chance to select a franchise QB is often multiple first round picks. The only situation in which we can call it a dumb move is if Jordan sucks and ends up in a backup role or out of the NFL in a couple of years.

Another thought here, 2020 seems to have been a very good year to draft a QB. It's possible that if Jordan Love had declared for the draft in 2021 he might have been a top 10 pick. Probably top 15 at minimum.

Top QBs drafted:
2020:
1. Joe Burrow
5. Tua Tagovailoa
6. Justin Herber
26. Jordan Love
52. Jalen Hurts

2021:
1. Trevor Lawrence
2. Zack Wilson
3. Trey Lance
11. Justin Fields
15. Mac Jones

Jordan Love could be good and still be the 5th best QB of his class, while simultaneously being perhaps #2 compared to the 2021 class. It's too early to make these sorts of judgments of course, but it will be amusing if Jordan didn't get drafted higher only because of how he compared to the other seemingly very good QBs in his class.

I believe when it is all said and done, Love will be the number 3 QB of this class (and of both years)....which would be just great with me and the fanchise
