I've read a few times how the Packers need to add a veteran QB to help Jordan Love. I think you're full of shit. The kid has had three years sitting behind one of the greatest QB's of all time. If he NEEDS a veteran backup, there's a massive problem here. I can see an argument being made that the Packers need a veteran QB, but not sure I buy into that too much.

The 2008 Packers drafted QB Brian Brohm in 2nd round and QB Matt Flynn in the 7th round. Maybe the Packers weren't so sold on Rodgers as they now proclaim to have been? Maybe they felt Rodgers would be looking over his shoulders with a veteran QB? I have no idea. I just see the Packers drafting a QB in 2023 in rounds four through six though. And probably adding some free agent QB's and let the battles ensue.

Gute said he'd like a vet WR for the WR room so the young guys could bounce ideas off of him and have more ways to learn.

I think the same could be said a bit about QB, BUT in years past, the head coach, offensive coordinator and QB coach have all been in the QB room, so Love might have enough experience to bounce ideas off of and some people learn best by teaching others, so have a rookie that Love is trying to teach a little bit might help a lot too.

pretty sure they will draft a QB in the late rounds, or they will sign 1 or 2 to the 90 man roster to see if they can find someone who slipped through the cracks.
Saying that I wouldn't be against signing a vet like Matt Ryan who poses no threat to J Love, but can also help him out .
More sets of eyes on the defense never hurts.
I was addicted to The Hokey Pokey, but I turned myself around!

I think people are missing the ideas of bringing in a veteran QB. Like articles were saying the Packers should get Cam Newton and people were going nuts saying he would never beat out Love and things like that. I think the idea of having a veteran QB as a backup is in case of an injury, so you have someone that can step in and still help the young receivers still grow.  Do you really want a so-so rookie that struggles play and then you are stunting the growing of Watson and Dobbs.

That's just my thoughts.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

What Packers need at backup is QB who knows the offense. That's it. Nothing more. Nothing less. If that's Matt Ryan (it won't be for financial reasons) or some fifth round prospect, so be it. We need to think more like Vikings Nick Mullen when thinking veteran QB backup. He had time with LaFleur at San Francisco. That's the kind of veteran backup that'll be added. Not someone like Cameron Newton or Carson Wentz or even I saw some saying Baker Mayfield before he signed with Tampa Bay. Gotta look for those QBs who overlapped with LaFleur. I think that's the only veteran QB we'll see.

The thinking is sound though. A QB who has familiarity with LaFleur and/or the system he deploys.

Also, sounds like Wentz rubs some people that wrong way... which was said in college and with the Eagles.

Wasn't said with the Colts but he was only there one year and then they traded him without giving him a head up and owner took some shots at him (but this is low standard as the Colts owner took shots a lot of his QBs) but I think the shots were at his leadership or lack there of.
