When Bakhtiari is healthy, he's absolutely an elite pass blockers... he was clearly rusty at the start of the season, I wasn't sure if he was going to be able to bounce back, but he absolutely did.
I'm context of PFF, after starting extremely rusty, he ended up with the 6th best OT pass blocking grade in the NFL (#4 LT).
For for non-positon pass block grades, no one is close to Bakhtiari, and only Tom is within 10 points and that's barely (Runyan isn't far behind).
Now Bakhtiari's run blocking is average at 40th overall OT, but when you narrow that down to OTs that have taken more than 325 snaps at LT last season, he's 13th in starting LTs.
But of Packers OL that have taken at least 10 snaps... the best run blockers are Jenkins and Bakhtiari and no other OL is within 10 points. This started as a joke, but I seriously started to wonder at one point, if we should actually try TE Lewis along the OL for his run blocking.
Correction, C/OG Hanson run blocking was within 10 points... but his pass blocking grade was 20.6 ... a tree planted in the right spot might of done just as good.
The next closest in run blocking was Newman, whom also correctly got benched to his bad pass blocking.
Bakhtiari's run blocking might of been average, but he still was 13-15 points ahead of Tom, Nijman, Runyan and Myers.
The chances you release Bakhtiari are 0% unless he does something illegal... or 1,000% immoral.
2023 Roster Bonus: $9.5M (due 3/17/2023)
If you truely hate him, you might try to trade him before 3/17... but if you do, then completely start the rebuilding process and stop trying to win right now...
Jenkins grades were probably hurt by his time at RT and having horrible teamwork with Newman at RG next to him.
But Bakhtiari was the only one with an above average grade... and Jenkins was the only average one.
