Microsoft did some scummy things in late 70's and early 80's, no question. Their morals and ethics improved a lot starting in the 90's and then of course that lawsuit forced their hand. Apple has been and is deplorable with their business practices and business ethics. If you like good reading, check out those they've sued. Apple stopped innovating decades ago. They now steal and bully their technologies away from small time developers (e.g. people like me) and small companies. They know they can drag litigation out with their big shot lawyers and eventually force small companies to "settle". They have done this dozens of times.
One thing that I do respect and admire about Apple is they have brilliant marketing strategy. Granted, when asked why they charge so much for the iPhone, the head sales person remarked "people view iPhone as status symbol" and inferred they knew they can charge whatever they want and the clowns will still buy it up. Nowadays Samsung steals from Apple. Apple steals from Samsung. The phones are similar in features with the exception that Apple still forces you to be an Apple sheep whereas Samsung (for the most part) allows you freedom.
